Love the company, been here 5 years but there's zone disconnect between the top tier management and the middle management which leads to disconnect with the lower level management. You can promote fast but you can also get fired just as fast. Could pay better, because 3% annually doesn't add up like they think it does.

I have worked for ASM for some time now and I can say with confidence that they care about their employees and they listen when there are concerns. As a management company, they are often having to work within the constraints of the owner's budgets. I know they have our best interests at heart and I can see they always explain the why behind things. My coworkers from all over the country are like family and there is a strong foundation of respect amongst all- team members and management. The culture is based around team member development and growth and inclusion. The hardest part of the job is that many properties have hiring issues--it doesn't seem to slow down because the company keeps growing and acquiring more properties, so sometimes the current team is spread thin until new people are hired. This all comes naturally though with large growth like the company is experiencing. I've learned so much, especially since running a property is very much like running your own business. You do it independently often and despite that, it's still enjoyable. I love that the company includes everyone on meetings and training and there are many points of contact for support if needed. You can really grow with this company. Another perk-storage hours are very close to M-F 9-5, and Saturdays are generally shorter days. Sundays closed. This is awesome for both full time and part time. Love this company and don't plan on leaving any time soon.

This is a fantastic job, if you are a self starter. If you are a hard worker and are able to function without someone "holding your hand", you will go far. Management is wonderful, HR is wonderful, I have never had any issues that were not resolved, in most cases almost as soon as they were brought up.

I had a great time working there, just a hard place to work when it comes to upper management. There are a lot of friends who don’t hold their other friends accountable for their mistakes. And it made me feel like I could do something right, and still be in trouble or reprimanded for it. They constant over the shoulder watching is something I don’t want to do at my job.

ASM was by the far the most ridiculous company I had ever worked for, little to no training, high expectations for mediocre pay. No solid or stable chain of communication with supervisors or higher ups. Dress code policies that only applied to those who were less than the favorable few. Heresy goes a lot farther than facts in this company. I never would have wasted my time with this company had I known that they do not care about their employees and take advantage of customers.
