It was possible to make a difference in a students life
Written by Teacher, Tutor (Former Employee) from Los Angeles, CA on May 3, 2018
I enjoyed tutoring students who were at risk. I basically made a curriculum that was geared toward the needs of the students. I collaborated with the teachers in the public schools that they attended and learned what subjects each students were failing in and needed help with. Most of the students were in the No Child Left Behind (NCLB)program. Its - more ... a intervention by the government to bring each child up to grade level.

I was able to successfully bring twenty students up to grade level and that was very rewarding to me. - less
ProsTutoring was done in the home of the student or a public library
ConsSome of the students didn't make themselves availble for tutoring
