Great Company
Sales Consultant (Current Employee) –  Atlanta, GANovember 1, 2018
I've been working as a sales consultant for Acadia in Atlanta for almost three years. The job essentially involves outside sales of window treatments - traveling to people homes, discussing products, measuring, quoting, ordering and related administrative duties.

This is a hard job that most people underestimate at interview and training stage. Many people have not succeeded in the role (many have succeeded too though!). It requires a high level of organization and thoroughness. Everything has to be done in a timely and orderly way or you will trip up. You have to be able to visualize how treatments will install, which can at times be a very technical process. You have to be accurate with measuring, specifying and data entry. You need to be a people person and a great communicator. Most days have multiple things going on at once so you need to be able to cope with pressure and be a problem solver. Appointment duration can be unpredictable and occasionally locations can be remote. Time management skills are essential. This isn't a 9-5, it is a frequent and necessary thing to be catching up in the evenings and on weekends. It is the kind of job where you rarely feel like you're totally caught up, there are always things to do. The company is run as a tight ship and you are expected to operate at the same level. Administrative duties are required to be completed in a particular way.

All leads are gathered and processed for you, your calendar is filled by the schedulers. Unfilled slots are rare. Leads are mostly interested buyers who have contacted the company directly.
more... The company has great reviews. You are dealing with high end products and great manufacturers. The administrative support is great. The installers are the best in the business. The managers are extremely experienced, supportive and responsive. You're working with custom quoting software that is way beyond your competitors. Once you are established, there is great flexibility in appointment times. Benefits are great - company car, MacBook, iPhone, good health insurance. Your earnings depend on performance, but good consultants earn what is advertised. The best earn beyond that.

If you are the right fit then it is a highly rewarding, enjoyable job. Coming from a 9-5 background, it's hard for me to imagine going back to that after the variation and flexibility of this role. It's a great company with great people in it.

Great Job
Sales Consultant (Current Employee) –  Atlanta, GAOctober 23, 2018
This is a great company to work for. They have an excellent reputation and provide great products at competitive prices. Because of the company's smaller size, employees have a lot of flexibility to set their own schedules. There's never a shortage of customer demand, so sales consultants can make great money if they put in the effort. Great health plan and company car. This is not an office job. Sales reps are out in great neighborhoods meeting with home owners. If you are a people person, you'll love this position.
Pros
Flexible schedule, company car
Cons
Competitive sales atmosphere. Complicated job.

Outside Sales Rep (Former Employee) –  Charlotte, NCSeptember 9, 2018
besides having a semi flexible schedule, I wouldnt recommend working here. Manager and Owner mirco-manage like crazy. Only care about getting google reviews from customer, doesnt matter if you sell or not, Just get reviews. (you cant force someone to write a review) Everything is the sales rep fault. No team atmosphere.
Pros
Flexible Schedule
Cons
Micro-managed
