If you were in charge, what would you do to make ACE Cash Express a better place to work?
Creat a marketing and advertising department. They have plateaued with the same customer base and expect you to sell to existing customers products they already have. Too cheap to realize how much NEW business they would have if they advertised.
What advice would you give the CEO of ACE Cash Express about how to improve it?
Make sure every store has items it needs for organization and at least 2 people during the course of the day because it's 2 or more windows it should be atleast 2 people. Employees should train off-site (or on a computer in the back that can simulate or mirror transactions being done in the front.)
Training should be completed and assessed with demonstrations of ability before new people are placed in stores with other individuals that are working and focusing on the job instead of the trainee training in the store and most times the trainer is doing the additional work of watching over them and making sure they're following procedures so the backlash doesn't fall on the in-store trainer because the new hire made a mistake or the trainer didn't catch it because he/she was with a client or had to use the restroom while the trainee not fully understanding proceeds anyway and not ask questions of what they never fully understood.
Management/CEO could implement a numbered wait (now servicing number 12) so that the rudeness can be diminished and with clients that curse the employees that are following procedures/protocols in the proper manner to give everyone the same service.
Some customers curse employees and are rude because a customer before them may have cashed a check, paid 4 bills, completed 5 credit or debit payments, made a bill payment through wire service and completed a wire transfer to a person. The next customer because of waiting may be irritate and curse you for attempting to help them with quality service.
Maybe a kiosk of sorts for small transactions could be in the extra non functional window space.
The fact that they make you entirely responsible for anything that goes wrong like in a transaction that was not even you who conducted it.
I came in for a job fair in their store, immediately hired on, with exception to the mouth swab results in 7 to 10 days. Start date about two weeks out. It was formal to casual wear preferred, and very laid back. The two interviewees were district managers from out of two states. Both warm and down to earth. No hard trip you up questions, just wondered about my past employment and knowledge of my 4 years worked at same kind of job. I would be considered for management in a year with my prior history. Excited and hope my results come back good. Asked about marijuana in the test results, she said would be fine.
