Not all that glitters is gold. School offered a large salary, but came with a cost. Overcrowded classrooms, lack of team/departmental collaboration, and a school climate that talks a big game about mental health but never allows teachers to express themselves or take care of themselves. Aggressive lack of sped support and favoritism was more prevalent that respect for teachers. We are all trying our best, but the risky gauntlet we had to jump through is not worth the reward.

Great job, very flexible and understanding when I couldn’t make it in.Great Ambiance The pay was on time and had no issue The only downside is that they have no benefits for us as substitutes.

Climate and Culture needs work but families are amazing

teachers start work anytime before 8am. The school day ends at 3:45pm. You teach in your assigned classroom. There needs to be more transparency from administration communicated to teachers.

Stressful and non-supportive

Worked very hard but felt unappreciated. no support from administration and other teachers and staff. long weekends doing work for the classroom, but never appreciated.

Acero Schools is a mixed bag that requires leadership.

Acero Schools could be a potentially good work environment but lacks in leadership to the point at which accountability is nonexistent, strategic objectives are nonexistent, and firefighting is constant. This lacking trickles down and permeates the organization, resulting in minimal effort, littler horizontal or vertical collaboration, and an antagonistic work environment.

Physically active and moving

I came in this job only knowing regular cleaning. I am glad throughout my time at this company I have learned many skills and tasks. I am a good team player and always work well with my co-workers.
