Long hours for low pay, unless you're family or married into the family. Extreme favoritism, harassment rampant, constantly in fear of being fired. The key time to fire someone is Friday's around 3:00.... I would get nervous every single week when that time came. No advancement unless you are related. Very cliquey and so many serious issues overlooked. This company cares about PROFIT. High turnover rate (again, unless you're related)- this says a lot about a company.
Pros
free food, flexibility if you need to come in late, dogs allowed in office on Fridays
Cons
Management (or lack thereof), overall atmosphere

First off very toxic work environment. This company is a joke. Fridays are dog friendly day except most of the times they are there everyday. So it's hard to do work when you have dogs barking and coming up to you, your whole shift. Job was frustrating having to call same contractors over and being yelled at for harrassing them. I do not recommend working here.
Pros
Free lunch
Cons
Toxic work environment, gossip, etc

ADI offers a standard office environment. 8 hour work days are typical but the work load fluctuates and can be heavy depending on the season. Expect to work much longer days. What you learn at ADI is self taught, they lack training and experienced management.
You will experience a lot of negative corporate work culture: office gossip, poor internal communication, micromanagement, hyper-competition, bad habits, strictly focused on profit, low office engagement and lack of empathy, and lack of office discipline - problems are not addressed and rules are not adhered to. There really are no core values for this company which lets the employees run amuck.

A few perks: Sometimes you can step outside and/or grab a bite to eat.

You are promised advancement, but that rarely happens to any employee. Employees are in fear of being fired any minute. This family run business has proved to be a toxic environment. The only good thing is you can bring your dog to the office on Fridays and the summer cookouts.

I love working for ADI. Managers are cool, coworkers are cool, and it's generally a relaxed yet fast-paced environment. Don't slack off, do your work, and you will do just fine.

Typically you are expected to arrive at the crack of dawn and start calling sub-contractors before they arrive at work to get a jump-start on the harassing phone calls made daily. You are also expected to stay until dusk generating new leads. I learned a lot about the Construction business and began to learn how to read blueprints. The hardest part of the job was showing up everyday to dirty looks, people not speaking to you but at you, not being included in office events when everyone around you is being asked to attend, and harassing people and being spoken to rudely often if not daily because of it. The most enjoyable part of the job was the free food, pet day and the free gifts given at holidays.
Pros
Free lunch, pet day, great kitchen
Cons
Not enough pay for the workload, you can't have a family or social life outside of work

Come in 7:00 am. turn on computer, print out project bid board, update Prolog from email responses, input any late bids, print daily bid list log, call every sub for every trade. Later in the day call more subcontractors to bid on projects. I learned how to read drawings and the ins and outs of the estimating department for a small general contractor. Management was not bad but some aspect could have done a lot better to maintain it. The hardest part of being and Estimating Admin was making sure subcontractors bid on projects when they say they are going to bid. The most enjoyable aspect of my job was working with great hard working Peers who just as hungry to get the job done.
Pros
Great company, great people
Cons
deadline hassles on short projects, jepordizing of jobs, pleanty hours in the office +12 hours
