Mechanic (Former Employee) – Tonawanda, NY – April 14, 2018
It seems like someone turned the clocks speed down. The only reason it got more than a star was a few of the guys are awesome but seem stuck there. I wish them the best. A few small changes with how management respects and interacts with you would go a long way. The shop manager just farts as he pleases and threatens your job at small mistakes.
Heavy Equipment Technician (Former Employee) – Rochester, NY – April 20, 2018
Good managers to have your back when an issue arises. They help you get the job done and train you at the same time so you're always learning something. They cares what you say and don't just blow it off.
Rental Coordinator (Former Employee) – Vestal, NY – April 2, 2018
This company could careless about there employees management has no clue whats going on inside their stormes only thing they care about is the Dollar signs. Admar is not a company i would recommend working for. there is no personal life if you are a manager you are on call every second of the day. the employees are not there top priorities. pay is terrible and raises do not happen unless you are hourly. the benefits are terrible and unaffordable. there is no training your on your own, do it wrong and you are threatened your job
Accounts Payable Specialist (Current Employee) – Rochester, NY – December 15, 2017
Admar is a good company for a man. Women are not treated equally especially for their pay. They offer benefits but the health plan could be better. They have perks. Our vendors give us luncheons and the company supplies a veggie tray and fresh fruit weekly. It's a man's world at Admar. There needs to be improvement and they are trying. The have a great Christmas party. They are expanding to other states. They need more mechanics to service their equipment. Our office is very cut throat. We should work as a team. The best part of working at Admar is they never lay off people. There are a lot of experienced workers at Admar. The hardest part of the job is there is no cross training. The most enjoyable part of my job is that I work independently.
Rental Coordinator (Current Employee) – Erie, PA – October 25, 2017
This company is not for just any body, you must be able to multi-task and work in a quick paced setting. We take care of the demands of customers who depend and rely on our services. The culture overall is great, yes there can be ups and downs but its all part of the business flow. This company offers competitive wage, great benefits, Paid holidays and other perks most companies do not offer nowadays. The people who leave this company whether through quitting or being terminated are people who are not fit for this industry. Not everyone is suitable to be a doctor, but some individuals are.For our industry you have to play multiple roles based off customer demand. Great company to work for overall and the management team does the best job they can within their limitations.
To many to list if compare Admar to other companies
Wish there were more then 50 hours to work seeing as the company is not shy about overtime
Parts (Former Employee) – Clarence Center, NY – September 22, 2017
The management was horrible, they don't know how to distribute work evenly and there is very low and poor work ethic throughout the entire company. Would not recommend for a career, there's no room for growth.
Sales Representative (Current Employee) – Albany, NY – July 12, 2017
This used to be and could be a great job: Company is transitioning from family run to a corporate set. The mid level management has never worked in the industry and is choking progress with menial reports and endless emails. GPS on company vehicles, salesman are unable to set pricing on the products to their own customers. Company support is slow to unresponsive, classic "salesman is commission based so he has to drive every aspect of the sale/rental because we can't expect anyone else to take a vested interest" climate
Great product line, company vehicle, expense account
Administrative Assistant (Former Employee) – All – June 9, 2017
Management is only concerned with employees they are personally friends with - not interested in solving problems for any other employees. No respect is given, especially in administrative roles. You're expected to do the jobs of other employees and be compensated less than they are. Corporate is just as bad. Management doesn't take responsibility for their actions. Would rather have employees quit than try to make workplace more functional.
yard guy (Former Employee) – Vestal, NY – March 7, 2017
I worked there for year and a half and form day one they never really showed me any respect every time I came up with a good idea to make the yard more productive for when customer came in they told me it would never work and always made me feel like I wasn't doing my Job but fired me for no reason. They would rather keep someone that hits the building and is in safe to operate equipment
Sales Representative (Current Employee) – New York State – February 6, 2017
Strong organization that is developing their employees to be engaged and high functioning professionals. They provide a ton of training, a commission structure that lets you make as much as you can. Great management, they’ve promoted a lot of internal people up through the ranks. They have a lot of long term employees, 10 years +, so that speaks well of the organization. If you’re a professional that wants to grow personally and professionally, this is a great place to be. They have had several past employees who had left for greener pastures try to get back in.
training, being part of a strong, growing company.
don't apply if you're looking to just punch the clock, they want high performers
This could be a great place to work given the products.
The constant micromanagement from the top down hinders the success and morale of the company as a whole. To top it off the pay is disgraceful for how you are treated and for what is expected. If your looking to for the job Admar is fine, if your looking for a career look elsewhere.
