Started as a driver but did MUCH more. Made some really good sales which I had to "give away" because I'm not a CPP. This company doesn't compensate their people very well. Over the last 11 yrs my wage has only increased by $2.11 per hr.
Yes they do depending the severity of the crime, and the year of conviction. If your crime was over a year ago... based on job experience and charictor, they will consider you for employment.
I worked the night shift mainly and I'd be home by 930pm - 9:45pm but I love these hours so to me they are perfect
Does the background check look into high school graduation or GED program completion?
Yes but automotive experience and knowledge are a great plus and most likely will get you hired anything else can be trained being computer savy helps a lot also
What is the vacation policy like at Advance Auto Parts? How many vacation days do you get per year?
Horrible vacation pay, its accrued but they dont tell you that. So if you have 40 hours due after a year, you will ot get to use them fully until end of year. Then if not used you will lose them. They avoid posting correct vacation or sick hours on pay check stubs to hide your hours. Recommend not working for this company !

Increase revenues by offering a pay level that attracts qualified people to work the parts counter. The money lost from returns or bad sales practices due to lack of knowledge by associates is staggering. Choose a store and pay everyone $12+ an hour based on qualifications and see how impactful it is to a solid bottom line. I worked at store #6010 and my customer average was $150+ per hour due to my knowledge. This was 7 years ago and i only did this part time but i am confident in this strategy. Parts stores are nightmares due to the lack of training and professional development with their associates.
Are the background checks heavily scrutinized or is it just for verification purposes?
Not sure now. Used to be a criminal background check & drug screen to be hired.
