Work Environment and conditions are great, great place to work. During my time at ACH, I was given the leeway to be able to learn, create and build my career at a great pace.

Medical Assistant (Former Employee) –  Apex, NCJanuary 25, 2018
Every experience is different for different people. I enjoyed majority of my co-workers that were there and still keep in touch but I am a very quick learner and I like to be able to progress in any job that I accept.

This is a community health center that delivers care to all patients regardless of ability to pay. There are the typical nuances that can be found on any job site - staff relations, communication issues but overall the job functions and duties can be managed if one can quickly problem-solve and are amenable to frequent change. Additionally, one must be intentional about not engaging in activities which are nonproductive but make it a priority to focus on the needs of the patients served. No one day is like the next. The patient needs are enormous and with the high volume of patients served the ideal candidate would need to be able to make decisions quickly and not be too overly disturbed when a change has to be made with short notice. The CMO and assistant CMO are truly compassionate about the service rendered and are doing the best they can to make positive changes that are effective.
Pros
PTO time/requests are approved without problem
Cons
Communication between Administration and staff

REGIONAL DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS (Former Employee) –  Raleigh, NCJuly 10, 2017
Really do not listen to their staff and no room for improvement. Providers are leaving in mass numbers which prevents some hurdles to provide quality care for patients.

Great People to work with
Account Specialist (Former Employee) –  Raleigh, NCJune 20, 2017
Great people to work with on the non management level. If you get the right supervisor, they work with you if you need to take time off. The benefits are good. But, when the funds are down the jobs get cut. Jobs are not secure.

Stay Away.
Medical Assistant (Former Employee) –  Raleigh, NCMarch 17, 2017
This place is horrible. They will all act nice and caring at first but will turn on you super fast. This place is a complete joke. The management plays favouritism big time. They will treat you like trash. Benifets are aweful and there is no advancement.
Pros
Hour lunch break, free lunch often
Cons
Everything else

First they will make many promises, but will not honor any of the promises made. Policies are not enforced and continue to change even though they have given new employees a handbook with the current policies. They encourage staff that want to pursue further education that they support it, but truthfully they do not care much about anyone trying to further their education. Management is dreadful they have requested feedback from staff and patients, but are quick to shush you when you are giving any feedback or just respond to you with a "We're working on it". Clinics I understand need revenue, but when that is main concern over pt care and keeping staff, that's where the problem is. There is no personal or work growth, so do not go in expecting to be promoted or to receive a pay raise, no matter how hard you are working it is not recognized at all. These are just a few of the reasons to the extremely high turnover rate here a majority of the staff is unhappy and they have yet to take initiative to help keep staff satisfied and to at least supply the clinical staff with the proper supplies needed to go through a good work day. Jobs are not promised here, so stability has opted out of this one, if you're looking for a stable workplace this is not the place.

Terrible place to work
Manager (Former Employee) –  Raleigh, NCJanuary 24, 2017
The management treat the providers like dirt. I had never seen this before. There is always gossip and changes just to undermine employees with one thing said and another being done. A terrible TOXIC environment ! You will be sick from all the stress of any job there. They are wasting tax payers money and need a better way for them patients. All the money goes to management to be a dictator. The providers and staff get paid pennies and take all the stress! Should be closed down until they can get much better management.
Pros
Do not work here unless u want to be treated like dirt

Change the Leadership at the Top, then you might have a chance
Anonymous (Former Employee) –  Raleigh, NCSeptember 21, 2016
This company means well and has a good mission of serving the underserved community, however will never be truly successful under the leadership of the CEO (who has been there for 20 years).

They need fresh blood in the top leadership roles, with people who are respectful of others and know how to move the organization forward. So much time and money is spent inappropriately under the control of the CEO who micromanages her staff until she needs them as a scapegoat, then she finds a way to get rid of them. There is a constant churn in top to middle management b/c anyone with talent leaves due to the disrespectful behavior of the CEO.

Read any review about this company and it all says the same thing...great mission, hard working employees, horrific leadership.
Pros
Good people, hardworking staff, passion for a mission to help the community
Cons
Poor leadership, financial instability, questionable integrity, no value of employees

Unprofessional company!
Medical Assistant (Former Employee) –  Rock quarry Rd. Raleigh, NCSeptember 8, 2016
This job is the worst place to work for those who actually take pride in working in health care. The staff are friendly but will turn on you in a heart beat, there is nothing but clicks who do nothing but spread rumors. It doesn't feel like a job but instead like high school. The management is terrible and would rather keep the bad employees and let the good employees walk out the door. They only pay you $13/hr and that pay is for everyone front desk to the nurses. There is no room for a raise because it is a "community health center" however management gets all the raises and large paychecks. They may offer overtime but its only up to a certain amount of hours where you can ONLY get 40 for the week and will give you a day off if you have too many hours. They hire students straight from school who sit there and don't do their job but text and talk bad about other employees. I've heard all the MA's talk bad about the patients and belittle them because of their income status. The Dr's leave after they do their tenure, so the place always hires temp Dr's to fill in. This place would have a lot of potential if they actually stopped and paid attention to the drama and kicked the bad mouthed talkers out the door. I left because I'm a great MA and I love what I do but refuse to work for a company that has nothing but ghetto hood rats!
Pros
Nothing!!
Cons
Everything, Stay clear from this place as a patient and employee

Unorganized chaos
Do Not Want to Disclose since made public (Current Employee) –  Raleigh, NCMay 19, 2016
This organization has all of the potential in the world. Supposed to stand for a place that offers health care to individuals who would not otherwise have access to healthcare where due to poverty or locality. This place DOES NOT value employees in ANY WAY. Patients are unhappy and doctors and staff are unhappy. The patient's who stay are those who do not have access to other health care and the employees who stay only stay because they love the "mission" of helping people. No perks, no loyalties, and chaotic. Employee value is nil. Environment is uncomfortable. Turnover is horrible (to be in an organization for just over 4 years and have worked with or seen 300 - 500 different employees - NOT GOOD). At your own risk!!!

Good place to work
Bilingual Medical Receptionist (Former Employee) –  Raleigh, NCNovember 6, 2015
This is a good com. to work for unless your a medical receptionist. They want you to do it all if you are bilingual. With the same pay as all the other receptionist. The good thing about this place it that they have good benefits. When it comes to health insurance and PTO.
