Productive and fun place to work

Indeed Featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
It is a very organized office, with a great staff. If you are a student and you need to get your feet wet (so to speak) in the medical field, this a great office to do it at. The doctor's are very accommodating and helpful. If you are eager to learn, they are eager to teach. You get real world skills in this practice. You will leave with a world of confidence.

Pros

Always learning something.

Overall good place to work

Nurse manager listens and helps with concerns. Though there are decisions made above them that probably weren't made with nurses workload in mind. Pay is pretty good for area.

Great leadership

The leadership is great. You have a lot of support. The pay can be a little better but it usually works out when you have great people on your team.

The best organization I've worked for in my varied, 45-year career

What is the best part of working at the company?AdventHealth is Faith-based, Christ-centered. They attract a more compassionate, caring employee. I've never worked with more devoted people than at AdventHealth What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Because they are selective and want the very best, we are at times under staffedWhat is the work environment and culture like at the company?Like a Family. Caring. Accepting. Understanding. LovingWhat is a typical day like for you at the company?Dedicated work until lunch. Nice cafeteria with lots of options. Employee Lounge has massage chairs, room to relax. People work well as a Team and help each other to provide the absolute best care. Doctors seem to be as kind and compassionate as employees.

Patient care

No organization and black people don’t really get promoted or get fair treatment within the department. I knew of one women who had 4 masters degree and had been there for several years while the Director was promoted to this position from only being an intern. It’s pretty said to watch. However, when you look at pictures you see post of different ethnicity as if they really care. Lastly but most importantly patient care from an Advent Health care management stand point is pretty horrific to see. On the positive note the corporate office do a nice job with formulating great employee benefits and most of the staff are nice but I do get a sense of people getting nervous of job security. I’m working for a much better employer and feel better appreciated with a better pay structure and room for growth.

Good Company

It can be hard to advance at times. Over the years the company has changed a lot and the environment has become more and more stressful. People are unhappy everywhere. Outdated technology and processes makes everyone's jobs so difficult and inefficient and on top of that they take a long time to implement any changes.

Great Place to Work

The organization really cares about you as a whole person. The mission matters and is incorporated into the work. Be prepared to work, but also be prepared to be reward with more than just a paycheck.

Low stress Job

The job itself is low stress. Handling much tickets on a daily basis, this position is a good fit for someone who’s work at home. The pay is good as well.

Great start, rough 2023

3 year employee here. Lots of changes and that’s normal for Advent, lately it’s been negative changes and the feedback falls on deaf ears. Leadership in corporate is overdue for a restructure.

Pros

Great on-site culture, decent salary

Cons

Out of touch leaders

Challenging workplace

Unfortunately it seems that each location can offer a different experience. The East location was bustling with little positive interaction between coworkers. Much like a therapy factory.

It's ok

Pay is good and generally understanding when situations happen. Management can be very micromanaging and very discouraging. Hopefully within a year things get better.

Benefits ok, pays poorly

Raises are minimum and placed on call often, no guaranteed hours. Benefits are good, but management prioritizes money over patient safety and safe staffing ratios.

Unsafe nursing ratios

Long hours which is expected but unsafe ratios. Charge nurses assign too many patients. Bonuses are not a thing. Inconsistent work schedules and lack of leadership are hard to deal with.

Great teamwork

Working at Advent has the typical challenges of working at hospitals: understaffing, issues finding the right supplies to do your job because they're either not available or not working, and ever-increasing expectations of nursing staff. However, the hospital has many excellent staff who work well together to care for the patients.

It’s okay

Apart from the dark and gloomy vibe this hospital has going on, working there has its ups and downs. From my experience, my managers have been very nice and understanding. the environment is what you make it to be, i don’t get involved with my coworkers personal lives so im able to treat my job as what it is. have i had better work experiences? absolutely. I just don’t like the vibe of this specific hospital.

Busy good coworkers

Night Shift is less busy and no administration. Coworkers are great. The most enjoyable part is your coworkers and the hardest is multiple admissions.

Looking for another job…

What is the best part of working at the company? The employees are great, but the company only cares about itself. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Dealing with HR takes more than patience. Both, but I get through the hiring process, as well as dealing with issues as they arise. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? It feels like it’s the employees vs. the employer. Hours are hard to come by because the company runs at “minimum level” staffing ALL THE TIME. Again…all the employees are wonderful! Well, the employees who actually keep the operation running, are wonderful. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Interact with coworkers and patients. Deal with issues as they happen.

Terrible to employees

Horrible to staff. Dirty facilities and understaffed.Worked with skeleton crew while we had a packed ER. Even the benefits are not that great. I learned that you are not worth anything

Great Starting Pay and Benefits

The company itself is great but the location which I worked for the turn over rate was high due to toxic employees. Complaining about it to the manager got you no where. The manager would have talk with these individuals but the talks must have fallen on deaf ears because nothing changed. I wanted to stay with the company and transfer to a specialty practice but there were no openings, so I had to quit. I really wish managers across the board would get rid of employees that create a toxic work environment instead of forcing good workers to resign. Oh well, such as life.

Wonderful culture!

One of the best jobs I have ever had. I loved the culture and their attention to faith. I remember the blessing of the hands that meant so much to me. They really care about their employees, and it shows!
