As a customer service specialist, working for Afni, a third party company for Verizon Wireless, employees are scheduled a 10 hour workday receiving inbound customer calls. Responsibilities of the call center rep were to handle any questions or concerns customers had about their bills, accounts, or plans. Minor tech support, and to document every call as it was received.

It was an okay place to work. The work is pretty repetitive. Taking incoming calls for a phone company on the west coast and sending out repair techs if needed.

Great place to work. Easy work. Easy training. Not enough first shift opportunites. A typical day consist of logging in for chats, taking three chats at a time, and remarking accounts once done with customers.

your day at afni once you have finished training is a grind, learn to deal with a**holes on the phone quickly or you are not going to last.

A typical day at work consisted of taking inbound calls and assisting customers with their online account. I learned how to be patient and explain things to the customer so that they understand and how to de-escalate a situation. Management was horrible. co-workers we great to work with. the hardest part of the job was having to sit all day.

Its a great place to work if you like to sit down.
You sit in front of a computer for hours.

I liked interacting with all the customers over the phone.

Hardest thing, is not hanging up on rude customers.

The management is great!

I took a lot away from this job in the years I worked for the company. Examples would be better ways in managing personal feelings toward upset/rude customers, managing time, ensuring goals are met and to set realistic goals for myself personally and profressionally.

Assisting online customers with there accounts with navigation. customers calls in needing assistance with viewing and paying bill and usages. Also upgrades, adding a line. I learned the patience of handling a call from an irrated customers is making sure that I can do everything in power to resolve the customers issue and concerns.
