The AIDS Foundation of Chicago is a wonderful place to work. Senior leadership is equally committed to its clients and its employees. There are many opportunities for community engagement allowing staff to resist "Ivory tower syndrome".

Certified Application Counselor (Former Employee) – Chicago, IL – April 23, 2015
This was an excellent work experience. I learned so much not only the Affordable Care Act, but the many organizations in the Chicago area that receive services from The Aids Foundation of Chicago. The work they do for the HIV/AIDS community is still very much needed. I was on the ground floor of determining the means of reaching potential applicants in need of healthcare enrollment and was able to jump in and offer opinions in a safe and supportive work environment. The hardest part of the job was selling the potential clients of the importance of healthcare with all the negative press presented to the public. The management and my co-workers were a joy to work with!
Meeting new people, my co-workers and the knowledge acquired about the Affordable Care Act
