Director of Direct Services (Current Employee) – Austin, TX – August 13, 2018
I would recommend ASA as a well rounded work experience in non-profit. I was provided an opportunity to advance and grow professionally. I gained a great deal of knowledge about community resources. Through my position I had the opportunity to develop relationships with community partners.
Case Manager (Former Employee) – Austin, TX – June 13, 2018
Working for ASA is very stressful. There is little to no support given to front line staff. Front line staff are never appreciated for the work they do & are underpaid. Every week there is a new issue that goes unresolved. Staff turn over is VERY high & most do not last more than a year due to the bad work environment. The leaders lack vision & knowledge on how to run & develop the organization properly.
Pto, Supportive Coworkers (front line staff)
Controlling Directors, low salary, no room for growth/development within the organization.
Bilingual Non-Medical Case Manager (Current Employee) – Austin, TX – November 18, 2017
AIDS Services of Austin provides a nurturing a supportive work environment for employees. ASA will give the employee the opportunity to receive a thoroughly training on issues related to working with people living with HIV and HIV 101 sessions as well,
Friendly and nurturing work environment
Small room for developing in areas related to teaching and facilitating learning programs
If you are interested in working for a financially well managed, community respected non-profit, ASA is a great place to be. Work here is low salary but high reward. You can learn a lot of transferable skills and contribute to the larger community. Well worth your time and effort. Be a part of something great.
Community respected, a good cause, learning environment
I enjoy helping people and ASA allowed me to do that.
RECEPTIONIST (Former Employee) – Austin, TX – May 24, 2015
My daily task were answering phones, greeting guest, sorting mail and faxes, logging statistics, and distributing checks. I learned about the cause of this Non Profit organization, and worked with very caring people. There was not much room to grow Career wise, but the helping hand they give if very fulfilling. The hardest part of my job was the hard times of the clients. The most enjoyable part is knowing I can help and finding the resources to meet their needs.
