Once promoted to AFOM, I typically worked no less than eight hours. More often than not however, on learning and assuming more responsibility within the department, I worked closer to 10 hours per shift.


For mid-level management, the hours are to be expected, especially if you are a salaried employee. 8–10 is usually the range based on the property’s/department’s needs
