Poor Place to Work
Extremely poor management at Peterson AFB aquatic center. If you want a manager who cares about your advancement and advocates for employees than this is not the place. The patrons are great and most of the staff are a family; however, very disappointing work experience managerial wise.

Hostile Work Environment
The leadership is not supportive and fosters a hostile work environment. The morale is low and major issues are swept under the rug to include harassment and inappropriate behavior.

Do not do it
This place is an unorganized mess. The management team lack the necessary business skills to operate this place to the level of guest expectations. If you kiss up to management, they will grant your every wish, but if you show that you are not so easily hoodwinked and desperate, they will not take anything you say with a grain of salt. There are at least 3 front desk clerks that should have been fired years ago, and they are the reason that turn over in this place is through the roof. They do not want to work and will leave the desk to sit in the back and gossip while the new help does all of the work. They've been working in this place at least a decade, so they are not going anywhere. Be warned. It is not worth the stress for a lousy $8.00/hr.

Applicant’s Beware
Management let’s petty gossip dictate the treatment of employees, does promote from within when there are qualified workers that want to be there. Sick leave that is accrued fairly, management threatens if you ask to use it. Very corrupt group, management needs to be changed and real adults, not gossiping children, need to be hired.

Negative and stressful workplace
Working here you will learn a lot about children and you will stay very busy. You will likely get a lot of hours, and the pay is pretty good for the area. But beware. It is a very stressful place to work and you will burn out quickly. You will not feel appreciated and you will dread going to work. There’s too many kids and not enough staff. Working with kids is hard enough, but working with women who act like children is a lot harder. So much backstabbing and drama. Management doesn’t know how to handle it. Maybe it’s just this base idk but horrible place to work.
Pros
Kids, pay
Cons
Everything else

Fun place to work but management is horrible
Fun place to work but management is horrible on Maxwell Air Force Base. Management would call you out of your name and curse you in front of customers and other employees. There is no such thing as privacy, the whole workplace will know your issues after speaking with management. You are expected to come in on your off days and if you do not come in you will be completely taken off the schedule for two weeks. You are expected to perform everyone’s job plus your own while no one else does your job.
Pros
Meeting great people
Cons
Disrespect, hours, salary

We work a team!
Sheppard AFB has a new General manager that care about his people! He recently turned all staff members to regular employees meaning all have the opportunity to receive benefits.
All new applicants can receive benefits if they apply in March.
Pros
2 - 15 minutes breaks plus lunch break
Cons
We have 960 rooms to clean as a team!

Most of the co workers there are very messy.
Management is nice and they work you... The only downfall is it takes forever to become a regular employee..I would love to become a regular employee so I can receive benefits..coworkers gossip about everything.. They love to spread nasty rumors and complain about working there buy won't quit to make room for people who really want to work there

overall good place to work for
supervised children every day, helped them with their needs. Learned how to supervise kids, plan activites. Depending on what center you worked at, the management was sometimes unorganized.

Front Desk is AWFUL
Not one person in management cares about their employees. They have the attitude that you will do want or you can just quit. They will not help you arrange a schedule to fit any of your needs. Turn over is high, morale is low.
If you have no life and can work all hours of the day, then by all means get a job here. But if you have a life and value a fun and caring work environment, look elsewhere because you won't find that here. The front desk literally gets blamed for everything that goes wrong on a daily basis. Management only cares about themselves and will tell everyone your business. Supervisors make threats to employees to make them do what they want. Very unprofessional environment.
Pros
none
Cons
rude bosses, uncaring environment, crazy schedules, very unorganized workplace

Productive
Writing policy for the Air Force was very productive and interesting. My coworkers were very knowledgeable and creative. The hardest part of my job was my commute. The most enjoyable part of the job was the teamwork.
Pros
The government paid for my travel expenses
Cons
My biggest con was the travel time to and from my job.

Good entry level job-no advancement to career
Management is under qualified and intimidated by employees who have more education and skills. Constantly pitted against others by direct supervisor. Leadership was contacted about poor morale and supervision but it was easier for them to do nothing, than address the situation.

Benefits are decent, 4hrs vacation and 4hrs of sick time per pay check(bi weekly) and health, vision and dental.
Pros
Experience
Cons
Poor leadership & Managment, poor pay and morale.

High Work Ethic
Working hand in hand with Military Personnel provides for a high paced work environment which will push one to become better and more efficient as a worker. The management team is very direct and firm, however; fair and understanding as well. The environment was very diverse and it allows for team members to interact with all cultures.

Work Enviroment
As long as you are military or spouse, the work environment is great. IF you are civilian, it is not a very good work environment. They do not treat their employees fairly with hours and shifts.

Great stepping stone, especially for military spouses. Allows to work on base, enjoy family time, and learn more how the military works. Hardest part work at a small base would include no career advancement but will obtain the skills to move one to bigger bases.
