Horrible place to work
Patient Financial Counselor (Former Employee) –  San Bernardino, CAFebruary 22, 2018
I worked there for a year temp, they switch managers like you change clothes. They are liars and don’t want to give you time off but they want to apply the rule for there employees for you, also I was discharged due to stating I never called the sick and late hotline come to find out they lied they are the worse! Not worth the time or money

Line Pilot (Current Employee) –  New MexicoFebruary 22, 2018
Good job I like the schedule, typical EMS gig, days of nothing followed by days of high activity. Company is a big company so there is a good deal of management change as well as procedural changes to be in compliance.
Pros
schedule, workplace freedom
Cons
high responsibility

Clinical Base Lead / Sr. Flight Nurse Practitioner (Current Employee) –  Niceville, FLFebruary 12, 2018
This is a great place to work and gives the RN/Paramedic a wonderful chance to enhance their skills and take their career to the next level. I recommend this company for those considering a career in the air medical transportation industry.

It was good working there
Paramedic (Former Employee) –  Tucson, AZFebruary 9, 2018
Overall, it was a good place to work. It had it's share of problems just like any other company. The positive definitely outweighed the negative. I would definitely recommend working there.

Horrible place to work with horrible managers.
Flight Paramedic (Former Employee) –  Pocatello, IDFebruary 5, 2018
Managers are bias and deceiving. They lie about how much you get paid vs everyone else, they do not tell you that they do not pay you during the night if you do not get a call. You can end up being held over and not get paid overtime. They think they are the best, very arrogant. Management favors the butt kissers and will make you jump through hoops batted on their own bias opinion instead of facts. They will make you want to find a new career completely out of the field. I would never recommend this place to anyone!

EMS Base Manager, Lead Pilot, Helicopter PIC (Former Employee) –  Newnan, GAJanuary 13, 2018
A strong company with excellent people, and aircraft well suited to the medical mission. Aircraft were very well maintained, and the technicians at the local Georgia aircraft maintenance base did superior work during major maintenance operations. Pilot training is also excellent.
Pros
Great co-workers and excellent airctaft maintenance.
Cons
Long commutes to some bases.

Guest Relations (Former Employee) –  Waikoloa, HIJanuary 3, 2018
Training is poor, pay is not enough for everything they have you do, management is immature and does not know how to properly address situations at work. It's very "cliquey" if you aren't in the clique you need to watch your back at all times. If you don't want to have a life outside of work, work here. If you want to be overloaded with stress and worked to the bone causing you to get sick often work here. If you like having immature adults yell at you because they didn't get the front seats work here. If you like people talking g behind your back or having your manager yell at you in front of coworkers and guests work here. The only part of the job I enjoyed is the interesting aspect of the Helicopters themselves. All bases are terrible.

Government Billing and Collections Specialist (Current Employee) –  San Bernardino, CANovember 29, 2017
There's a lack of training for collectors. Once you go over the handbook, you begin to work accounts, some collectors are not willing to share their knowledge with you, research on accounts can take hours, work can feel overwhelming because of the lack of training or understanding of the 6 reports on has to work off of
Pros
Overtime
Cons
Lack of teamwork

Project Assistant (Current Employee) –  Englewood, CONovember 20, 2017
No work life balance, stressful. Limited to 2% yearly raises with no bonus. Company grew too big, too fast without growing the support staff. Always on a hiring freeze. Great industry but business model is poor.

Quality Assurance Supervisor (Former Employee) –  Gainesville, FlNovember 2, 2017
Provided training only when training was needed. Minimum days off. You were expected to work long days and into the night to get aircraft back in service. You are on call 24 hours a day, but only reqired to be at the base when performing maintenance.

One bad apple ruins the whole bunch-REMOVE THE BAD APPLE
Collections (Former Employee) –  San Bernardino, CAOctober 15, 2017
It is a great company to work for but there is clear favoritism in some departments, employee's who have been there longer tend to bully and belittle people if they don't like them. You feel like you're working in High School, the way some people act. Instead of fostering new relationships, groups are formed to bully people they don't like, its unfortunate management does nothing about it, it seems they are scared for some reason, or just don't want to deal with the problem. It would a a great company to work for if a handful of people changed departments or no longer worked there.

Industry leader, but it's not Google
Corporate (Current Employee) –  Denver, COOctober 9, 2017
The company provides a great service and everyone working there is united in doing the best they can to support the operations (to a point), but there is absolutely zero camaraderie at corporate, even within departments. The culture is very back-stabbing and every manager is only concerned about his/her department. Intra-department relationships are of a hostile nature. My manager has run off several really good quality people. It definitely is not an enjoyable or fun place to work at corporate headquarters.
Pros
Job satisfaction of making a difference

Bad culture

At Corporate Headquarters (Current Employee) –  Englewood, COOctober 9, 2017
Air Methods is a fine company to work for. It isn't the most amazing place, but it isn't bad either. I work with nice people who care about the work they do. I would say that the culture varies by department, but I feel management can be difficult to work with at times, and resistant to change/improvement.
