Not a bad company
Attorney (Former Employee) –  Washington, DCApril 2, 2019
The company went through a lot of changes while there - focusing on all things that fly, hence the name change from EADS to Airbus. Generally speaking good corporate programs. A lot of red tape between the US and Europe tho...

Great place
QA Analyst / Integration Engineer (Current Employee) –  Brentwood, TNMarch 12, 2019
I have been working at Best Companies full-time

Pros

Friendly family atmosphere, very different to anywhere else I've worked. Lots of opportunities to learn new skills and make the role your own, the free lunch is a bonus.

Cons

Struggling to find anything I really dislike here, some other reviews mention the company being reactive rather than proactive, I think a lot of organisations are susceptible to this and the company are aware that this is sometimes the perception, therefore they are able to work on it.

Advice to Management

Ensure the company values are retained throughout the organisation.

Project Manager and Senior Imagery Analyst (Former Employee) –  Fort Collins, COFebruary 19, 2019
Airbus is your average corporate entity, some pros and some cons. Typical day is same as any other corporate gig, management is pretty average along with workculture, etc etc.

Aircraft Inspector (Former Employee) –  Columbus, MSFebruary 10, 2019
Was kept informed on how the company was doing, by management.
Morning meetings. Overseeing others work in assigned area.
Most enjoyable was being out on the floor and working with people.
No real negative parts of the job.

By far the best place to work
Technician (Former Employee) –  Mobile, ALJanuary 23, 2019
I regret having to leave. They offer you everything a career should. They have all the propper tooling and as much help as you may need. Management did absolutely everything they could to help you out as an individual.
Pros
Benefits, pto, work hours, and proper place to work
Cons
I can not think of one

Highly recommended workplace
Network Administrator (Current Employee) –  Herndon, VAJanuary 19, 2019
Typical day comprises 60% operations and 40% project work.
IT budget is generous and supports annual obsolescence in support of acquiring newer technology.
IT management encourages employee engagement and participation in decision making.
Hardest part of the job is maintaining operational excellence when project loads increase.
Most enjoyable part of the job are the people.
Pros
Supplements for lunches, paid Holidays and great work/life balance
Cons
IT staff is service based contractors that regularly change

Good place to work!
Receptionist/Administrative Assistant (Former Employee) –  Richardson, TXJanuary 6, 2019
I worked there for 2 years, but was laid off due to cut back in the company. It was a good place to work for the time that I was there. I would recommend someone to work there.

Was Once Great
Manufacturing (Current Employee) –  Grand Prairie, TXAugust 3, 2018
This was truly a great place to work. Numerous retirements in the senior management team and really poor hires from the outside have destroyed the culture and led to regular reductions in the workforce.
Pros
Great colleagues
Cons
Completely lacking in leaders

Accounting Department is a mess
Corporate Staff Accountant (Former Employee) –  McLean, VAMarch 27, 2018
I never been to a company where management hates coming into work everyday. People can be rude and easily frustrated. No sense of corporate culture. Ever since BDO took over the accounting its been a mess to say the least. BDO is not doing their job! no accountability for the department.
Pros
Nice office building
Cons
Accounting Management BDO.

Director, Technical Services (Former Employee) –  Temecula, CAFebruary 2, 2018
To work within the emergency management market was challenging and exciting. The culture was great and the mission was important, but supporting over 3000 911 centers had its challanges.

Great people

Poor management and low regard for employees
Commercial Aircraft Mechanic (Former Employee) –  Mobile, ALJanuary 9, 2018
Very poor management. You had to know someone to be promoted to manager position. 60% of workforce was management and at that, didn't really have much knowledge of management or what they were doing. There was need for much blue collar work but too many managers. Airbus FAL Mobile very rarely will promote from within the company and rather hire outside so advancement in the company is out the window. Benefits were great and the pay is questionable for blue collar work and mechanics. Most the people that work there are nice to work with but also a very negative outlook on the company from within. Don't be fooled when they say they care for their employees because it is very cut throat. They are more concerned with looking out for the company rather than looking out for their employees.

Decent benefits but bad attitude if your a tech
Simulator Maintenance Technician (Former Employee) –  Miami, FLDecember 18, 2017
SO Airbus offers decent benefits package overall thats a plus. If you are a maintenance tech or a flight instructor you are considered second class employee so be warned. They are not pro union and care more about their administrative personnel then their service staff.

They fight anyone who asks for more pay and would rather higher cheaper techs than pay people what they are worth. If you are looking to get your foot in the door and get experience its probably a good fit.

Fast paced and excellent coworkers
Independent Contractor (Former Employee) –  Temecula, CADecember 10, 2017
You get the opportunity to work with some truly exceptional software engineers here. The management is generally supportive and communicates expectations very well.

The only real downside to the culture here is that teams in different physical locations are often politically at odds. Within a single team the experience is great but if you try to get anything done across teams that are in different offices it is extremely difficult.

Productive and a good place to work.
Accounting (Former Employee) –  Grand Prairie, TXNovember 22, 2017
Airbus as a whole is a great place to work. I loved working at Airbus but I didn't so much love working for my manager. My manager was a complete jerk that doesn't know anything about his department. He tortures his employees. Work would be alot better if he wasn't there.
Pros
Co-workers were great! Very team oriented!
