Eligibility Support Clerk (Current Employee) – Oakland, CA – December 18, 2018
Good employer the staff are relaxed but informative. Clients are helped in a timely fashion and the customer service is great. If I were to change anything it would be the culture within, from its who you know or who like you to, your work ethic speaks for you.
Auditor Associate I - Clerk Recorders Office (Former Employee) – Oakland, CA – December 10, 2018
Mundane work, learned to listen to podcasts while working, senior management was excellent, middle management was far from impressive. When management tells new employees "don't try and change anything" on their first day, not a positive start.
Specialist Clerk I/Receptionist (Former Employee) – Eden Hospital – December 10, 2018
The company has good values however it is not executed by the staff. As a TAP Temporary woker you are treated as a second class citizen. The test are very difficult which makes the TAP positions hard to fill.
Secretary I/II (Former Employee) – Oakland, CA – November 16, 2018
Many fund memories of good, educated, and caring managers and staff at Alameda County. No matter which department a new hire lands in, they will be given an opportunity to learn their job functions well, build their resume by growing in all other areas in the department with supportive supervisors and co-workers.
Head Maintenance Technician (Former Employee) – Emeryville, CA – November 1, 2018
I learned a lot from the years with this company and I really appreciate the freedom that was given, also the confidence in me to do the job right. If I could ever have another job like this, where I can be creative freely I'd most likely stay as long as I can like I did there.
very fast paced in this department for registrar of Voters
Clerk Intermittent (Former Employee) – Oakland, CA – October 31, 2018

Account Specialist II (Former Employee) – Oakland, CA – October 23, 2018
The management at Alameda County is very challenged. Management doesn't communicate with non management. Can be very stressful. Many - not all of the employees walk around very sad. A class in business acumen would not be a bad idea.
Applications Systems Engineer III (Current Employee) – Oakland, CA – October 15, 2018
Pretty typical work environment - meetings, politics, plusses and minuses. Most of the people are fun and great to work with but of course there are exceptions. The pension is awesome if you can stick it out long enough. I'm impressed by the County's efforts to stay leading-edge current, even with government budget limits.

Dispatcher/Specialist clerk1 (Former Employee) – Hayward, CA – July 19, 2018
interacting with prisoners, learned law enforcement skills and some clerical. The culture was not inviting, the hardest part of the job was being isolated from the public and locked in with inmates the entire shift. The most enjoyable part was the experience and knowledge acquired.
