Fast paced company providing niche' Alaskan small ship cruises
Operations Manager (Current Employee) –  Sitka, AKJanuary 7, 2019
Typical winter day runs 7:30-5 with summers being a bit longer with some weekend work. The company is a family owned business with a deep history in Southeast Alaska. You feel as if your part of the family here.

Sous Chef (Former Employee) –  Sitka, AKFebruary 6, 2018
The benefits of this job ultimately outweighed the cons. At times super frustrating and stressful. It will open up a whole new experience in a working environment.
Pros
Amazing scenery and bonding experiences with staff and passengers.
Cons
Long hours, many days without communication with family or friends.

Bartender (Seasonal) (Former Employee) –  Sitka, AKOctober 18, 2017
Working long and hard hours is and easy trade-off when you are on a boat in the Southeast Panhandle of Alaska! The astounding wildlife, geology, glaciology, and soaring peaks, make life on a boat very rewarding. There is a lack of communication between boat and land support that needs work, but otherwise it is a great place to work.
Pros
Free room and board
Cons
Short breaks and no days off

Dishwasher (Former Employee) –  Sitka, AKSeptember 22, 2016
Working in Alaska, on a ship, just that whole experience was new for me. I enjoyed it. A typical day at work consists of dishwashing and cleaning the galley (kitchen) after every meal. I learned how to work under pressure. Have not had any management skills yet. My co workers were fun to be around, very energetic. The hardest part of the job was dealing with sea sickness. The most enjoyable part of the job was the sight seeing and exploring Alaska.

Steward (Former Employee) –  Sitka, AKFebruary 3, 2015
Working on a cruise ship you expect to work a lot of hours but not 950-100 a week. A mom and pop company that make digressions by talking with friends not the management that has worked in the indusrty.
Pros
Great views, whale, seals, bears and lots of ice
Cons
long hours, few set standards
