AFI is, quite easily, one of the best places to work. They provide adequate training during which you get the information you need to assess whether the position is right for you. From there, they send you to a property and give you all of the help you need to make sure you remain successful. In the time I’ve been with the company, not only have I been given the assistance I need or succeed, I’ve never once felt like my ideas were worth less than the ideas of people who’ve been with the business or in the industry infinitely more time than I. In fact, they’ve taken and implemented some of my ideas! Working for AFI has been the best choice of my career.

The property manager was great and made you feel like family. He often invited his employees over for game night or other get togethers. The work was rewarding and the tenants where happy to see you.

I've been with AFI a little over three months and already I'm happy with my supportive managers and training tools they provide to assist in you excelling at your property. I am glad that this company works hard to keep their employees comfortable and happy to reach out for anything needed to help achieve success.

Vendors and employees should expect to wait 90+ days for payment or reimbursement. There is a marathon process for spending approval, but it is so antiquated and clunky that the approvals never land in the same fiscal month as the spending, rendering the whole system pointless. Bottom line: you will be put in charge of a multimillion dollar asset, then reprimanded for spending more than $50 without first getting approval. It is incredibly difficult and frustrating to do this job well, but running a stabilized property can be rewarding. AFI just has some growing pains along the way, and would do well to be understanding that things will break and go wrong on older properties.

AFI is a solid company to work for. Coworkers are easy to get along with and typically helpful. The job can be occasionally stressful, but overall rewarding.
