I would seriously recommend pursuing a similar position at a different company if possible. Otherwise, demonstrate willingness to be flexible with potential tasks and to promptly seek out solutions to problems you may encounter on the job.

Cut out layers of management, offer more funding for professional certifications, increase tuition reimbursement, offer more opportunities for growth. Get rid of whatever policies make a person accountable to one single division. There were times new contracts and opportunities opened up, but I was not allowed to work in one location and report to a different division due to 'head count' allocations. (IE - X division receives a new tech contract which I would be suitable for, my division has no tech to work, however I can not report to my office (Division Y) and be an employee of Division X) THIS BY FAR is the most frustrating issue to deal with. Lack of advancement is clearly an issue, but when there is advancement to be had, the corporate red tape interferes with that. There were also times when I would find new contracts but when presented to management was told 'Oh that is work for Division X'. That mentality needs to stop. If we are encouraged to act as one cohesive team, these barriers need to come down. I have seen Divisions be pitted against each other. I would stop treating each Division as an individual business entity and start pooling resources together more efficiently.
