Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) in Shelby Charter Township, MI

The doctors and coworkers are great! Management is terrible and uneducated! Rules and policies are different for each employee, no consistency. Doctors are great but tend to turn their back on the fact that the large turnover rate is due to managers being so unreasonable.

I have been with Alliance Health 18 years, the management is great, flexible, caring, compassionate. There is plenty of advancement opportunity and they encourage promoting from within first. They provide free uniforms each year and they do little things throughout the year to show appreciation to the staff, like free ice cream, BBQ for lunch. There are several employees that have been here 6 years or more. That speaks volumes.

I have worked for Alliance Health for over 10 years, and I really enjoy working here. I work specifically at the Mount Clemens office so I can't speak to other offices.I like working here because of the flexibility and general atmosphere. I love that I have made lifelong friends because of Alliance and can think of several patients that have left a lasting impact on me.It's upsetting when previous employees take their anger out in a review, but honestly, it's a super great place to work. I've never had an issue getting my voice heard. They have several options for employees to suggest options for change, and they actually do read them all.Personally, I really like the culture of the workplace and have not had any issues, but I am also realistic and realize that it's a busy office full of people and there will be occasional drama, the key is to not get involved, do your job and don't worry about why so and so isn't doing something. These types of jobs are for compassionate, mature, empathetic people who understand the value in making someone's day, and not get upset because an employee took 5 extra minutes on their break. The most enjoyable part of the job is making a positive impact on someone's health and wellbeing, whether it be with direct patient contact or behind the scenes. The hardest part of the job is not the job itself but navigating insurance company policies and keeping up with changes.I have learned many things working at Alliance both personal and professional. I think working in healthcare from a younger age and staying in the field is humbling. It makes you look at things a little differently, and in a way, it actually makes you MORE caring and compassionate.Bottom line: Alliance Health is a great company to work for. Insurance is good with several options to choose from. Pay is good. Time off is good. There is a lot of flexibility. All of the Physicians and Physicians Assistants are great to work with. I laugh every day at work, I don't dread working here. There is always a candy bowl around, and snacks in the break room. There are also several employees that have been around for 10+ years. The Mount Clemens office also has a laboratory and full imaging center on the main floor, with a large parking lot and close to cute downtown restaurants and shops. You can even spend your lunch break walking by the river and meet your co-workers for after work snacks!

Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. Flexible with schedules when the need to take time off or sick day arises. Great ideas to advance primary care. Work like balance perfect. Not able to promote certain work positions to their fullest potential.

Honestly, This was the worst job I've ever worked at and it starts with the horrible management. We are always short-staffed, the doctors are great, my co-workers were great, but run seriously
