Control Room Officer/Weekend Supervisor in Ashburn, VA
on August 18, 2020
Managers do what they want for who they want. If the manager does not like you they will look to fire you or make work conditions hard.I enjoy a pretty steady schedule but often asked to be a team player with nothing in return.

Management/ contract supervisors/recruitment is lazy and will leave you hanging with no clue what to do for long periods of time. The higher ups all protect each other so its nearly impossible to climb the ladder. SA claims aren’t taken care of and they will work you on mandatory overtime to the point you have no life outside of work and if you complain they will take too much of your hours away and you won’t get them back unless they want you to cover for someone which is a punishment. Training to get your license is long and miserable but afterwords you have a license so that’s good but you have to depend on coworkers who are disgruntled for good reason which is worrisome. No lunches so snack when you can. Your manager will expect you to cover for others because they don’t want to. Pay is terrible for the amount of risk. Politics are ex military/ex police > everyone else > women. Uniforms are mens sizes only.

Management is not mean or out to get people (as some employees think) they are just incompetent and promoted above their ability. Schedules are consistently messed up, and there is no attempt to improve things.
Security Officer in Los Angeles, CA

Whenever I have a question for my supervisors, most of the time they take 2-3 days to respond over text. Never really work with anyone and it greatly impacts mental health and social life. Work 40+ hours a week, but still considered part time. So no benefits. Pay is eh.
Security Officer in Lithia Springs, GA

It was meh. Nothing of note gained, lost time working here, overall, they pay you what they think you're worth[dirt]. Only do it if you need a stepping stone
