Account Manager (Current Employee) –  San Francisco, CAJuly 8, 2019
Allied Universal presents an excellent opportunity for management of young people. However, the middle position is crushed by the op tempo. The business model is not all managers.

Large organization focused solely on expanding footprint through organic growth and acquisitions. Little to no focus on employee well-being.
National Account Manager - T-Mobile, USA (Former Employee) –  Wichita, KSJune 19, 2019
This company is growing too fast and cannot maintain proper management oversight. Company will not add headcount to manage new business. Terrible model.

Management At It's Best and At It's Worst
Account Manager (Current Employee) –  LouisianaApril 14, 2019
As a current Account Manager, there's no real work life balance, little compensation for given 1,000%, very unappreciative employees when your working hard to make sure they have everything they need to exceed within the organization. A typical day is making sure your site has what it needs (scheduling, training, payroll, corrective action).

Overall, there's no true work life balance in this position, no weekends at home if your site has no coverage, stepping in when your employees or unreliable.

The organization would be better if they offered additional incentives for management when they work over 40+ hours, to make sure the clients needs or met and the organization has a successful book of business.

Making adding additional incentive for salaried employees that if they work over 40 hours have an option to received straight pay or even time in the half.

Understand that your Account Manager are the sole reason outside of your entry level employees on how and why your contracts stay on target and client needs are met. Show more appreciation to all employees and administrative employees.
Pros
Health Benefits, Employee Referral Program, Perks Program, 401K
Cons
Going above and beyond with little to no incentives.

Good company
Account Manager (Former Employee) –  Durham, NCApril 12, 2019
Allied Universal in my opinion is a good company too work for if you are looking for long term employment. It would be a great company if the company had a system in place to help officers to grow and learn how to get to the next level in the company. Most positions that pay more are taking by people who never worked in the field of security but have either degrees or military experience. So it leave the patrol officers stuck in the position with very little opportunities to grow in pay or position. They would also be a great company if they took care of their officers like they o the client. I understand the business site off the company but feel that an officer would be more willing to go above and beyond for a company who would do the same for them. With all off that being said. I still feel that the company is a good one to work for. They do what they can to keep employees employed. Move you to different positions that may fit you better. Move you to a different site if a site isn't the best fit for you. Thing of that nature.
Pros

The upper management does not care for the people. Whe the company merged with allied barton they had a goal to go froma 5 billion dollar comapny to a 10 billion dollar company in 5 years and will do anything and step over anyone to acomplish that goal

Endless opportunity for a driven and outgoing individual
Account Manager (Former Employee) –  Salt Lake City, UTMarch 29, 2019
Account management is an excellent way to get into the management arena. Mentoring is readily available and offered. The culture can vary from site to site. The team you hire can dictate the overall feel of the site. Account managers must have the work phone on their hip at all times. Expect a few calls after business hours every week. The most enjoyable part of the job is the autonomy to create a team and execute a vision at your discretion... provided you have a client that is on board.

This company is completely incompetent from top to bottom
Account Manager (Former Employee) –  California City, CAFebruary 8, 2019
This company uses people up and dumps them like they are yesterday's newspapers. I've never seen a company like this before. I've always been anti union but if any company deserves to be unionized it's this bumbling organization. Guards actually get very little training and support is minimal. Recommendations from field supervisors are never implemented so it's just a token position. For every three people they hire, sometimes two quit in the first week. Guards are constantly not showing up for their shifts and the selection criteria to be a guard is you have to have a heart beat. No vacation pay, no sick pay, over priced benefits that nobody but exempt employees can use or afford. This is one of the worst run companies in the continental U.S. If clients really knew what this company was like, they would terminate their contract immediately.
Pros
Uniforms paid for
Cons
Everything else.

Loyalty Not Rewarded
Account Manager (Current Employee) –  Atlanta, GAFebruary 2, 2019
At the end of the day, they will use you until they don't need you anymore. That's typical with most big businesses, but you can work overtime, be salaried and put in 65+ hours per week and then when its time to advance, they go with the friend that just retired and looking for some easy money until pension hits. Money is top of the industry per position, but other companies probably will treat you better.

Account Manager (Current Employee) –  Minneapolis, MNJanuary 31, 2019
You get out of it what you put into it. There is ample opportunity for those who excel. While starting pay may seem a little low, its definitely comparable within the market.
If you are willing to be flexible, accountable and take ownership of your position and assigned account, you will go far.
Pros

Hostile Work Environment has occurred within this company's accounts, and its leadership has done very little to prevent or resolve the issues. Highly recommend working for other companies instead of this one..

Account Manager (Former Employee) –  Atlanta, GAJanuary 15, 2019
A culture where the only thing that really matters is the bottom line and what will keep a contract on the team. Loyalty is preached but none is shown except to a select few. This is relative to the city of Atlanta in particular.

The people that I worked with were great! If someone has a chance to work for the client I would recommend it to them in a heartbeat. The company is great to work for if you get the right management team as well.
