Once you're out driving on your own, its not a bad place to be. Wages leave a little to be desired. As an out of town driver brought in for training, I wish a little more thought was put into my flight/hotel/car and per diem (little to no thought there). Truck was given to me plenty dirty. Peterbilts which Im personally not a fan of but I guess some people like them.

This job isn’t the best but it’s not the worst. They don’t hire enough people to get stuff done then expect you to pick up the slack. Also if you work really hard they’ll expect that out of you and no one else.

Working at Alpine makes you feel like a person, not just a number. People know me by name and coming to work everyday doesn't feel like a chore but rather something I can look forward to and be myself in doing so. I was also supported in obtaining a certification that would have been nearly impossible to without Alpines support.

Alpine completely focuses on the employee experience. When I started here, they talked a lot about culture and a democratic structure for employees to be heard. Most companies say this but they actually followed through. Not to mention, there is at least one company lunch a month if not more. In my first week they catered Hawaiian food and there was so much of it! My managers trust me with the work they give me so I don't have someone hovering over my shoulder 24/7. The insurance is dirt cheap which saves me a ton from my last job and they cover health, dental, vision, and have a bunch of other add-ons for other benefits and family members. I have noticed a lot of employees have been promoted up the chain so it seems they are true about employee growth. I work in the purchasing department and my team is really fun but they also work like crazy. I thrilled to finally find somewhere that I can stick around for the long haul.

They promise that you will make more money after some time spent here, benefits are weak and management doesn’t pay attention to problems, revolving door of bodies. They change rules without telling anyone and don’t pay you more than 17 dollars to work in a -5 degree freezer. Don’t ask questions about the inner workings or they’ll be glad to get rid of you. You can work hard and as best as you can, no pay raise for that, but here’s a card with the word appreciation on it..
