Altair Alpha is a business active in used books and paper recycling industry. As books are wonderful media to transfer knowledge and enlighten readers’ minds, Altair Alpha’s mission is to recirculate as much as its can the discarded books back into the hands of readers; either through various local market segments, donations, export, or online portals. Through its various trade and non-trade routes, the company believes it has been able to save the most discarded books that flow through its warehouse by percentage wise. Given books degrade cardboard output of recyclers as well as require specific technology to recycle them properly, Altair Alpha dedicatedly works with recyclers that have the technology to process recycling books and and export the outputs to Southeast Asia market. Thus, the company prevents the books to mindlessly transported into the landfill. Since its existence, Altair Alpha estimates to divert few millions books out of the landfill annually.

Productive staff and laid back style of work

This is not a difficult job. After working here you'd most likely take a closer look at used books than what you did before. Management is not overbearing. Attendance is highly important and just always keep yourself busy. You get an hour lunch break which is cool if you want to drive home/take care of personal business, otherwise that also means you're there an additional half hour due to the hou...

A wonderful environment

The workers there seem a bit cold at first, but everyone is friendly and helpful through and through. The management is great and incredibly helpful, and the owner is very friendly. Most of the work offered is pretty repetitive, with more of an emphasis on speed and volume.

We come in, set up for the day by putting gaylors in dumpers to sort the books. Those books are sent to the back of the warehouse to be scanned.

Well managed, friendly environment, and a hard working company are the words I can use to describe Altair alpha. Work days are Monday- Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. We get holidays paid off, paid sick time, vacation hours, an hour lunch, and books at a reduced price. The warehouse is managed by someone that’s full of experience in many subjects. Great job, awesome schedule

The work is fast-paced, albeit a bit repetitive at times. Management is great and easy to get along with, and the owner is friendly. The hours are awesome, 8-5 mon-fri and currently we get an hour lunch break and payed holidays. Pay is good, especially considering how simple the work is. Great for book lovers since you can buy books from the company at a steep discount.

Bad Management

Things were decent until they hired a new warehouse manager who doesn’t have a clue how to do his job and acts like an unprofessional child. He is the definition of micromanagement. The owner needs to get rid of him already. Everybody who works (and worked) there hates him.
