Altex is overall, a good place to work. Competent workers and management. Like at any other big company, some information gets lost. Unionized benefits package.

This is for Altex Wire and Cable in Westfield in case there is any confusion. The problem is this used to actually be a good company to work for. That all changed several years ago. Greed and stupidity found its way into upper management. Most of the items they make are now produced in the Mexico plant for cheap labor and shipped to Indiana to be fixed. Unorganized, always reacting, never proactive.
The company lacks direction and focus. Management does not know what skills and knowledge employees possess, due to the lack of taking the time to engage with staff. Management is always reacting to situations/issues, usually without any executable resolution. No actual accountability or consequences for bad actors. EXTREMELY boring and mundane work. Mind numbing. No real room for advancement, and they are in the process of moving production to Mexico. You literally do the exact same thing all day every day with no moving around to do other projects.
