Work & Life Balance

Reviews

Executive Assistant/Front Desk in Miami, FL
on April 17, 2021
Work Culture Was Great
Hard work, good pay In the miami office everyone is great except for that mean elderly woman who makes the entire place dark. They have lots of work and expect that you meet the customers needs at all costs. They deal with high end clients that are paying high end money for their services.

This is a great place to learn the ropes as a contract employee. They pay very well and train you on the projects. During COVID, this has been a good temporary remote work opportunity.

This relates to M&A due diligence specifically:If you're set on making a career out of FDD, this place wins hands down over the Big 4. Much smaller feel, where individual offices often run independently with their own culture. Some offices have really great down to earth personalities, others more traditional finance. Compensation is dramatically better than the Big 4 and is directly tied to how much you work (very transparent). The work life balance is terrible. Certain offices are dramatically understaffed even as A&M grows. This means you will pick up the slack and work multiple demanding projects at once, especially at staff levels. It doesn't get much better higher up as I've seen Directors logging crazy hours as well. But at least you're compensated for it. You can feel the exhaustion and low morale across the company when it gets really tough, which is almost always. Get ready to work really hard on vacations/weekends/holidays, and almost no pause. If you're from a traditionally underrepresented group (women, POC, LGBTQ, etc.) you will find you're almost certainly alone. The younger hires are better, but Manager and above is an old boys' club culture, especially on the East Coast. Traditional finance environment.
Tax Associate in Coral Gables, FL
on March 5, 2020
This job was the worst I ever had. I came in as a tax associate with my Masters in Taxation and 4 years of experience. Management was super arrogant and made you feel like lowly beings. There is no support from them whatsoever. They talk and laugh about the staff amongst themselves. If you have a life you can forget it! Your life becomes your job. There is no work life balance. If you leave before anyone else, they will notice and immediately question why. For the pay , this place is not worth it. You are better off in a big four. At least that is reputable.

Overall I would recommend employer. Professional. very transparent about promotions, pay-levels. Promotions accessible to hard-workers. Self-motivated workers will excel here
