Amazing company to grow as an IT professional. Started here with no IT background and in less than a year I learnt so much about Networking and Data centers from the countless amazing colleagues who will stop at nothing to teach you as much you want to learn

Flexible Hours and Simple Tasks

This is a great place for college students to work. As a part time employee, a shift was normally 4 hours and would occasionally flex up/down 30 minutes to 1 hour. The tasks were very easy but things can get overwhelming when things get backed up. I enjoyed the sortation center because everything was already packaged, I just had to move the packages from one area to another & sometimes load pallets on trailers. Benefits were also provided after 90 days: life insurance, dental insurance, a vision plan, and health pay. I also utilized Career Choice and paid for a semester of school. Sometimes snacks are provided & there are drawings for prizes. At the time I was working, I was making $16 an hour and it later increased to $16.75.

Horrible culture

Amazon culture was no fun even in the corporate level. My manager was awful and inexperienced I’m very glad I left a company that was not good for me.

Good company to work with to get you by at life while working to pursue your dreams

Company itself is good. It offers good benefits, such as medical on day one, full time status on day one; schedule is fixed- you can plan your days ahead. They have voluntary time off, paid time off, unpaid time off, vacation and other special leaves. They offer accommodation benefits such as school, health issues accommodation and many more. The draw back is since there are no screening during job application for tier 1 workers are mixed, good workers or lazy workers. There are too much favoritism on management side's treatments to associates. Some managers even senior managers act subjectively or unprofessionally like narcissists, inconsiderate, power trippers. But if you are tier 1 as long as you just follow the rules such as the use of break time allowances and not lazy, and that you are more flexible (because they might assign you anywhere based on business priorities) then you will not be in trouble. But if you are one who complains a lot, resistant of assignment, lazy, then job in Amazon is not for you.

Pros

Benefits are good.

Cons

So many politics and favoritisms, people are sometimes treated like robots, many leaders are not team players, sometimes they treat AA like robots...

good job if you are lazy

I really did not like this job at all. I never met my boss, talked to maybe 1 person a week and you have to pick up others slack if they are not working.

Pros

15 minute break I guess

Cons

bad managment

Amazon is all about the numbers, not the employee or their needs

I worked at Amazon for 5 months, sustained 3 work related injuries and made the decision to quit. HR, management and the Wellness Centre treat you like a number due to the high number of injured employees. My decision does not allow me to collect UI but it does allow me the time to heal. The managers are there simply to fill the space because they have no people skills and the language barrier is frustrating. Amazon is a factory job, do not expect to advance.

Pros

Free parking

Cons

Management and HR

Don't do it !

Was working there for just over 2 years until a member of the area management took a dislike to me and I was suspended without knowing what I even did this was for 2 weeks , I then left as felt I was being victimised by this certain member of the management. MY ADVICE WORKING AT THE IPSWICH AMAZON STAY CLEAR !

Productive and Fun Workplace

it is a fun workplace and the job is very easy with very good pay however management can not be trusted at times and you feel like a number to them. You also get very short breaks only 30 minutes if you do a 8 hour shift and no break if you do a 5 hour shift

Pros

Easy Job, High Pay

Cons

Small Breaks

Terrible place to work

They tell you pay will be better if you do this and that but you have to pretty much be doing 60+ hours for decent pay. No work/life balance that way. Other wise you don’t make enough money for basic necessities. Managers don’t care if you can eat and if you get sick don’t worry you have to go into work still. They don’t care about you, pay the bare minimum and ask the maximum from you

Hard work but good money

I honestly loved working there and could see myself there for years had I not moved away. It is hard labor (lots of heavy lifting) but I just considered it a workout. Great pay and benefits. Would highly recommend to anyone with a warehouse in town.

Pros

3 day weekend, pay and benefits, open minded and fairly flexible about time off, gender neutral bathrooms, plenty of breaks, very diverse

Cons

hours and muscle soreness first couple weeks. Weird schedules. (I worked 1:30 am to noon.)

A typical work day

Very long shifts with no music or anyone to talk to.. They pay a good wage but just be prepared to work for it…I worked for them during the pandemic so it might be back to normal there.. Good luck to all

Pros

Wages paid

Cons

Long days and short breaks

Good culture, fast-paced

The people are great to work with and very supportive, with lots of events to bring the team together. Projects are engaging and meaningful. Be ready for tight deadlines.
