It's a good job, although it can get overwhelming at some points. Bills gotta get paid and this jobs pays good. That's the good thing. Benefits are pretty great too.

Horrible company/horrible management

Very unprofessional managers. Managers are constantly being pressured so the culture in the company is the worst I have ever seen. You will lose your sense of being a human being working for this company. You will also be expected to run yourself like you are a robot. 0/5 stars. Do not recommend.

Pros

Decent pay

Cons

No guaranteed break because production is most important.

Bullies and Lazy

These people took extra long breaks, wouldn’t help you learn the job and were very rude when barking out orders. The place was unsafe and the overall environment was down right unpleasant.

Pros

Nothing

Cons

Had a job until I found another job.

Good pay and decent benefits, most of the people are good to work with.

The pay and benefits are pretty good, there is advancement opportunities for those that wish to climb the ladder and be a yes man. Most of the lower lever management are good to work for and will jump right in with you of needed. Past lower level all they care about is profits, profits, profits. They say safety first but its definitely profits. If the company and the union would learn to get along and not always try to screw one another the place would rate 4 stars. With the new contract they are offering out union, work life balance will be gone, compensation will be down several thousand over previous contracts but by golly we got em 3 years of record breaking profits. After 19 years i have to say its a job but for the last 18 months its been more of a headache than a job. This company needs to learn communication skills. Its almost impossible to talk to anyone in Human Resources, there is little no communication between the different shift supervisors and departments which is always causing headaches. The plant manager will lie to your face time and time again. The head if Human Resources is all about downsizing. The plant is down to a skeleton crew in most departments and they don’t care.

Pros

Decent compensation package, good coworkers

Cons

Drama, vacation scheduling, upper level management.

Good work schedule, horrible management

20 years working for Bemis, and it had its problems like all jobs, but once Amcor took over it's awful. No help, cut to the bone on personel, management could care less about hourly employees, just want more, more, more for less and with less. It's only getting worse.

Pros

Work schedule, decent pay

Cons

Everything else

Pros

Good pay

Cons

Horrible management people that beeb here a long time don't wanna show you anything

Decent pay horrible working conditions.

We are way understaffed... for being one of the younger employees I often go home with my back, feet, shoulders hurting ect. Changing the policy’s everyday to better production. Usually making it worse for the employees out on the floor. Adding to job duties constantly. Not enough time to do quality checks, check resins, and do all of our job duties they expect from us between sets.

Pros

Still looking

Cons

Just about everything.

Good Pay / Management totally detached from Union workers

Amcor is a good paying job. Good Benefits. Has a Union. Very Laid Back. Some presses can run you to death. Lots of job duties for an Assistant Operator. No discipline if you don't get your work done. What you don't get done, just leave it for the next shift. It now becomes their job to do your job. And vice versa. Supervisor doesn't make assistant do their jobs. Good for guy that doesn't want to do his job. Bad for the guy that has to follow him. You can do your job poorly, not a problem. Company will not pay a penny for training. Learn on your own. Learn from other, what ever. Once you have your 90 days in it doesn't matter if you ever learn to do your job or not. Operators answer to Supervisors mainly for production. Supervisors answer to company about production of all Presses on their shift. Assistants answer to Operators. Plenty of overtime if you want it. Not mandatory yet. Company gaining with every contract. Number of people per Press is going down. Production quotas going up. Company is VERY safety minded. The more safety rules they add the longer it takes you to do your job. Once some one gets hurt with a tool they take that tool away from everybody. All the new safety rules takes you longer to do your job. At the same time they keep trying to increase the speed. They have paper logs for you to fill out every day that nobody ever looks at but you still have to fill them out. They keep adding more and more little detailed things for you to do and at the same time increasing speeds. There's a good safety plan. Company has a lot of self-defeating practices. Breaks and -

Good people, bad company

When I started I believed we had job security. That was a lie, management believes we can do more work with less people and constantly talk about lay offs. Any issue that is brought up by employees will not be fixed. The people you work with on the floor are for the most part awesome people. But higher ups could care less about you. The pay is great (could be more competitive), the benefits are not as good because of rising health insurance costs, the hours are enough when you work but awesome when yo dont, all the overtime you could want to work. Overall a good job if you're in a pinch to find a job but this job is going downhill fast

Factory work

The day to day job as an assistant operator was feeling job order upon request. constantly doing training exercises to help improve work conditions and solve solutions to multiple machinery problems. Meeting job order deadlines. Logging wasted/recycled material

Productive but fairly laid back

All in all not a bad company to work for, but work 12 hour nights every day is hard to get used to. The work itself is not very hard, unless you create more work for yourself.

Pros

Pay is fair

Cons

Not allowed to leave buidling for any reason

Great place to work

I spent 28 years working for Bemis Company. Bemis is a great company to work for. People who say it isn't demanded more than was necessary. I started out in a secretarial pool and worked up to a managerial position in less than 10 years. Bemis offers opportunity for advancement if you're willing to work for it.

Pros

Open channels to management.

Cons

Sometimes olays favorites

Overall great place to work, however they kept downsizing in house on jobs/employees

They eventually moved all most all jobs out of state and laying off 100’s of employees . Was a good family business for numerous years. They recently have been bought out.

Pros

Paid lunch hour

Cons

Was doing poorly in keeping jobs alive

Not a great place to work, they will burn you out

Pay rate is good but is eaten up by 450.00 per month insurance and management is atrocious. The stress level is too high and the push for production is unreal I understand that corporations need to make money but Bemis is just greedy. The best part of the day is clocking out and the worst is clocking in.

Pros

Paid lunch

Cons

Union contracts and very stressful environment

Mindless work

Takes 20 + years to get on days as an operator. They start at decent pay rate but tops out at a lower than other comparable factories in the area. No matching for 401k. And the insurance is expensive for what little it covers.

Pros

Never had any issues with getting paid

Cons

Takes forever to get to day shift. Low top pay and expensive insurance
