Reverse Mortgage Loan Officer (Former Employee) –  Kennesaw, GAJune 3, 2018
Great work culture. Great training. Lousy processing. Takes forever to close loans. Lots of training. Didn't feel micromanaged which was freeing. Hardest part was constantly apologizing to clients on why their loans were not read to close yet.

Inside Sales - Traditional Mortgages Division (Current Employee) –  Folsom, CAJune 2, 2018
The vast majority of folks complaining about AAG were simply not ready for the job or didn't understand what they were getting in to.It's a sales job, folks, and like any sales jobs you'll be judged by your performance. To prepare you, the company offers world class sales training and coaching. If you're constantly working to improve and implement the strategies they give you, you'll find all the support you need. If you're commitment is half-hearted or you you're doing the bear minimum until you can get to "some other opportunity", the company does, and will do, an excellent job at weeding you out so you can seek other opportunities. It's not personal, it's business. Is the company perfect? By no means but you'll be very hard pressed to find the same quality sales training elsewhere. You can, unequivocally, be a $100k+ a year inside sales rep at this company if you are persistent, patient and teachable. It's not rocket science.
Pros
Sales training, work/life balance, comradery, income potential

Growing pains and lack of leadership
IT (Former Employee) –  Orange, CAMay 14, 2018
Company grew too fast and is now looking to cut back. Exec Team lacks leadership and communicated poorly. Hard to determine what is really expected of employees given poor communication and lack of a strategic plan.

Senior Case Processor (Current Employee) –  Austin, TXMay 13, 2018
Fast paced, numbers based role. Work can be done independently but there is no flexibility in the work schedule. Training is being developed to be more inclusive.
Pros
Independent pipeline, high levels of autonomy in work.
Cons
Stressful, numbers based environment.

Loan Officer (Former Employee) –  Folsom, CAMay 11, 2018
Training was a complete waste of time.(4 to 5 weeks @ min wadge) Could have been on phone attempting to make money after one week. All leads are people with bad credit who couldn't get a reverse mort. Which means most cant qualify for refinance. Such a waste of time. But will pay for your license that is useful for the next job!
Pros
Get license! for next job!
Cons
Really bad leads!

Like any job, you have to meld with you co-workers at AAG to experience your full potential there. The sales training and product knowledge is key when coming out the gates and if you get moved an island called Ebola start looking for another job.
Pros
Lunches, Contests
Cons

Overall good place to work
UNDERWRITER (Former Employee) –  RemoteApril 23, 2018
AAG seem to have over hired based for the business coming through the door. 2018 re-organization is what we were told with no warning let 78 people in operations go due to reorganization.

Sr. Processor (Former Employee) –  Orange, CAApril 17, 2018
Initially working at AAG was great! They reel you in with a fun workplace, employee appreciation, and competitive benefits. Eventually they forgot to appreciate their employees and it turned into a sweat shop while underpaying their employees. I've been in the industry for a very long time and being a processor does mean hard work and long hours at times. All processors know this. The issue at AAG is they know this and will set unrealistic monthly goals, while underpaying you. You make more money in overtime than the bonus/comp plan they offer. Management questions why their employees constantly do not meet goal, but they fail to listen to the pleads of help their employees request and the suggestions the employees give to help business. Management does not seem to know what they are doing and refuse to listen to their employees. The benefits are terrible. They provide close to no time off. The CEO is a great guy with great intentions, but the people between the CEO to us regular employees are terrible.

Core values are there, not enforced
Manager (Former Employee) –  Orange, CAMarch 14, 2018
The organization is not bad. From the top they are serious about being a contributor to their community. Lots of charitable work. Lots of volunteering. Meals on wheels, caroling during the holidays for seniors, etc...
Internally there's a tremendous lack of knowledge, really at all levels. There are meetings about meetings they're going to have. While a collaborative environment is great, it can be taken too far. Particularly when all major decisions are made by committee giving voice to individuals that lack knowledge necessary to contribute meaningfully to the decision making. There comes a time when it is necessary to recruit the talent you need and allow them to fulfill the expectations you have with the skills you recruited them for. Additionally there are certain job functions that are simply devoid of any accountability. Processes get rolled out with no enforcement mechanisms. For those same job functions there are no consequences for doing the job poorly or not knowing how to do the job.
The benefits are decent, and even better they're cheap.
Unfortunately the excessively collaborative environment often results in those with the greatest skills or knowledge leaving the company in frustration.
Pros
Benefits are cheap, significant philanthropy.
Cons
Poor decision making and staffing choices.

Good company to work for. They believe in the work/life balance. They give you a lot of training and have plenty of resources to help you succeed. But like any sales job, you are there to perform.

It was a fun place to work. They treated their employees good with bonus, lunch and appreciation events. However there was no room for growth and the benefits weren't great.

Fun Environment, However the Management makes it very Stressful
Senior Loan Processor (Former Employee) –  Orange, CAFebruary 27, 2018
Management changed therefore, the company changed. The hours become longer 10+ hours a day, and therefore the stress became more intense. Especially if you were a Top Processor.

Loved my fellow employees
Private (Former Employee) –  Orange, CAFebruary 7, 2018
I loved the people, but the management was now well trained and do not expect to get paid the average salary. The culture is fun and they show appreciation in the continual activities for employees to participate in; spelling bee, ice-cream social, potlucks, and holiday party.

Worst company in the industry!
Processor (Former Employee) –  Orange, CADecember 19, 2017
The management is the worst! They have no idea what they are doing. If your a manager they will allow you to hire your spouse to be a manager that’s how bad it is. No area for advancement. The worst part is you can irk so hard and it goes unnoticed.
Pros
Activities
Cons
Management!!!
