Ok place to work for if you like talking all day
Lease End Specialist (Current Employee) - Irving, TX - June 2, 2022
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedThis is a decent job if you enjoy high volume call center culture. It's draining and metrics are hard to balance. We don't know what's priority; customer satisfaction and knowledge of services or high intake of calls per hour.
Pros
free food sometimes, 3 breaks a day, good pay with degree
Cons
30 min lunches should not be a thing, WFH opts needs to be distributed better

Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) - Alpharetta, GA - May 14, 2022
A quick place to work at, I just wish that they treat the contingent of work this the same as the regular employees since everyone start of as a contingent worker. They have company parties of the contingent workers aren’t invited we all start it off as a contingent worker, but overall a great place to work at, and the pay is good .

Good starter job for someone out of college who is not sure what they want to do
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) - Elgin, IL - April 6, 2022
I started as a temp worker out of college and eventually moved my way through each department. the office culture was fun and management tried to keep employees engaged with food days, activities, games etc. Being in a call center environment is not for everyone, it can be exhausting talking on the phone for the entire shift and you do the same thing everyday. If you stick it out, the benefits are amazing so it makes it worth it. You do need to do the time before you can advance into other roles not in the call center (ex: credit buyer, management positions).
Pros
good office culture, helpful team members, helpful management
Cons
very metric based, call center environment

Pros

Productive, great and good benefits.
Bilingual Senior Customer Account Representative (Former Employee) - Charlotte, NC - March 9, 2022
Good company to work for. Good benefits and good environment. It’s a call center therefore you will be taking calls all days and making outbound calls.

Fast-paced but have free lunches every now and then.
Lease End Specialist (Former Employee) - Irving, TX - February 15, 2022
This job had its pros and cons. It’s a decent staring job. But if you’re not used to talking on the phone all the time, you will feel drained. It can be emotionally and mentally draining at times. Be prepared for managers to constantly watch when you’re on the phones. Even if it’s for a few mins. It’s a lot of micromanaging.
Pros
Free lunches sometimes and paid holidays.
Cons
A lot of micromanaging. No personal time to yourself. Constantly on the phones Extremely fast paced.

Resume builder
Funding Associate (Former Employee) - Cypress, CA - February 5, 2022
It's a decent place to start after college to build your resume experience. You start (and will likely end) as a temp, coming from one of few local employment agencies. Don't expect any timely forward movement within the 6 month time-frame like they promise. They don't actually control any official hiring/promotion in their office for entry level positions until corporate gives the green light. The job is pretty easy as long as you can follow directions. Management is very hit or miss depending on who you get. I went through 3 different managers while I was there, since they kept leaving. They don't appreciate their workers. The great employees that you would want to keep around, always end up leaving for better opportunities. The mediocre and bad employees that stay end up being promoted consistently until they are less than adequate at their jobs. That should tell you what you need to know about the company from the top down.

Jobs at American Honda Finance Corporation
Racist/ discriminatory/ hostile environment
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) - Cypress, CA - January 29, 2022
Honda you have a culture of flat out racism. You don’t promote African Americans. You promote only your favorites. You allow managers and supervisors to yell at employees and create hostile work environment. HR is useless they support the hostility and racism. This company promotes white supremacy period!
Pros
There is no pro working here
Cons
Racism, discrimination, favoritism, no movement, no pay, poor raises/bonuses. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Honda is a representation of that

Not much room for advancement, but good benefits and job security
Lead Customer Accounts Representative (Current Employee) - Holyoke, MA - January 18, 2022
Only a handful of positions available at branch unless willing to locate. Pay is on the lower side but company offers lease incentive program along with generous health benefits and a fairly large 401k match. It is a call center so most positions require being on the phone for most of the day.
Pros
Catered food a couple times a year, free coffee, lease program, health benefits, yearly bonuses
Cons
Mandatory overtime, working nights and weekends. Low base pay, not much room for advancement

Only an entry point nothing else
Customer Accounts / Recovery (Former Employee) - Holyoke, MA - January 2, 2022
This place should only be a transitory workplace for someone trying to get into office work from another field. As an example, everyone there for more than 5 years seemed absolutely miserable as the job boils down to arguing with people all day (in collections, not sure how it is in customer service but you're likely putting out fires caused by the other departments.) Most work is dull and boring but it's not a pleasant feeling always waiting for the next meltdown. I could go on quite a bit but this already gives you a good idea about what you're getting into. Best of luck.
Pros
Free Food Overtime available
Cons
6 days of work 3 out of 4 weeks per month, Advancement limited (as well as competitive), Definition of soul-crushing, Minimal transferable skills outside of using a phone, Exceptionally poor office culture

Customer Account Representative (Former Employee) - Holyoke, MA - September 18, 2021
call center is boring, The place expects you to work like a machine and not expect any growth. The worst place to work you can't interact with other people

Work here if you’re okay with a call center
Customer Account Representative (Current Employee) - Irving, TX - September 13, 2021
This job was okay. Nothing too big. The benefits are nice. But management depending on which department you’re in can be unbearable. Molly in customer service isn’t the best. Nor is Noran in customer accounts.
Pros
Benefits, Company car
Cons
Management, Vacation, Management

Respect for the individual lost and the Honda Core Values, thrown out the window.
Senior Associate (Current Employee) - Elgin, IL - September 3, 2021
I can tell you that after a decade and a half+ with AHFC, I would not recommend it to anyone. We build great cars and we strive to live in a world of "respect for the individual". But when they say respect for the individual, that is meant for every individual but the employee. Out of the 4 managers, there are only 2 that are approachable, fair, and show respect for the individual. Unfortunately out of those 2, there is only one that can be trusted. We are told and trained about the Honda Values, and being a company that society wants to exist, but then after your day in and day out browbeating, it just reminds you that that respect for the individual is pertaining to everyone BUT YOU! After decades of service, they bring in managers that are allowed to treat employees in a manner that is not only unacceptable, it is cruel. Going to HR about a manager will absolutely end your career at Honda Financial Services. HR who is supposed to protect the little people, yet they allow the emotional and verbal abuse from the management team.
Pros
The reps you meet along the way.
Cons
Pay is awful, management is terrible and they manage with fear not integrity. HR will NOT BE ANY HELP, they actually enable management to treat their employees badly.

Good job depending on the department you work in
Customer Service Support (Former Employee) - Holyoke, MA - September 3, 2021
If you can stay out of Collections, the job is great! Lots of snacks in the break room. No or limited overtime. Great management in certain departments. Family atmosphere

Bankruptcy Collecter (Current Employee) - Irving, TX - August 13, 2021
Not much to say just mid. You won’t be properly valued it work also isn’t hard. Not much else to say, do it if you like easy office but do not a lot of money.

Customer Service (Former Employee)
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) - Irving, TX - August 7, 2021
AHFC was great. My supervisor was great. Manager could’ve been better. Great benefits and endless opportunities for advancement if you’re willing to put in the time and pay your dues. I can’t stress enough how great the benefits were but I and many others did feel like were treated like children. One manager even brought in coloring books and spin tops as a way to motivate us when a new payment system double debited customer accounts resulting in nothing short of chaos. Overall this is a great place to take your first steps in corporate America. Keep in mind that while they may call it a customer service center it’s just a glorified call center with below industry pay that’s offset a bit by a generous benefit package that likely doesn’t appeal to recent college grads.
Pros
Benefits
Cons
Difficult to terminate people which leads to a lot of dead weight.
