If you fail the assessments, its NOT your fault
Applicant that took the Assessment (Former Employee) –  St. Paul, MNJanuary 23, 2019
American Security and Investigations, LLC uses a 3rd party company (known as Merchants Information Systems) to provide testing to applicants. Most people PASS the assessment but the company sends a failure notice to you. I looked over the research methodology and as long as your honest, you SHOULD pass. The reason you would ever get a failure notice by American Security and Investigations, LLC is to give plausible deniability in court to justify not hiring applicants for unlawful reasons (i.e gender, minority-status, foreign born etc...). If you receive such a notice, contact the nearest office to report it immediately. If the company is reading this, you need to STOP using this assessment asap to avoid creating further liability.
Pros
Lot of opportunities to join
Cons
Uses falsified assessment results

So Far So Good
Security Officer (Current Employee) –  Ford Centre in Minneapolis, MinnesotaNovember 21, 2018
So far so good my friends. The management and trainers are very thorough with their job duties and know what they are doing. Very nice and professional. I'm a new transfer from a previous security company after 13 years and change working for them, so I know how security companies really portray themselves out to be. Like my previous security company that I worked for, American Security And Investigations LLC is a very pleasing and professional company to work for thus far my friends. No complaints........
Pros
Collaborative communication, medical, dental, and vision.
Cons
Working for both security companies.

Their client is more important than you as their employee
NA (Former Employee) –  Saint Paul, MNOctober 30, 2018
The company does not care about you. They will choose their client over you. They rather lose you than their client. American Security does not have your back what so ever. You are like their pawn, what ever their client say then they go with it. This is a good part time contractor job but will not be good for primary income. You can lose all of your raise you earned through out years of employment when American Security lose your account to a different contractor security company. These are the things that they will not tell you. No place for advancement. Managers does not know roles and duties at your post and lacks answers when you ask questions. All the managers at corprate has pot lucks and celebrate during holidays while security officers works hard at their posts uninvited. Security Officer position is not a value to them because they know that the position can easily be replaced. Its all about business to them and you as a security officer does not matter to them and you are not considered a great asset to them. They will easily use you if you do not know your employee rights and take advantage of you. Read your union contract book. There are no company picnic during the summer and no employee appreciation day when they know that majority of their employees are hard workers and are dedicated. They do not go by their company rules. For example, each security officer is required to get a well rest and atleast 8 hours before they start their shift so the security officer can be at 100 percent the next day for work. Security officers who barely get any sleep and are doing  more... double shifts still get yelled at and get threaten of getting written up when they clearly know that they over worked their officers and violated their own company rules. They expect you to follow company rules while they don't.  less

Do not work here if you value yourself
Gate guard (Former Employee) –  Omaha, NEOctober 28, 2018
Job should be titled, Glorified Walmart Greeter. That is what you are. The pay is low, the leadership lies, and the job is boring. You will get hired on the spot because everyone leaves and they are desperate for anyone and anything. Because of this, they get the worst people who call out all the time. I heard from others that they call you at midnight when they know you have another engagement to come in and cover. You are going to sweat in the summer and freeze in the winter. You work at Menards where the people don't care. 90% of the job is playing on your phone or reading a book to pass the time. Check people in and tell them where to go. That's the job. They won't tell you this during hire. Ad is super misleading. It's great for an 18 yr old just starting out or a secondary job you don't care for because you don't have to do anything to get paid otherwise stay as far away from the Omaha station as possible.
Pros
Payed to play on phone or read
Cons
No lunch, poor communication, lying leadership, boring, low pay

Laid back but no leadership at my post.
Security Guard (Former Employee) –  Omaha, NEOctober 23, 2018
Poor communication zero to very little advancement minimal pay for what is required. Uniform is over charged and when i quit they didnt threaten but warned me id have to pay for the uniform with in 30days or i get charged for it. Do not work for them if you work another job or do late-early morning shift. They will consider them your first priority. At least when i was there thats how they run.
Pros
Depending on post laid back
Cons
No life.
