Pros
Too many to list

A supportive work environment in most departments with excellent benefits
Prefer not to say (Current Employee) –  Schaumburg, ILApril 2, 2018
Flexible hours, remote work support, incredible benefits. HR is working hard to create a positive and collaborative work culture. Great support for new mommies. The building is beautiful and pleasant to work in, with lots of light and new furniture and fittings throughout. Information about the state of the society is shared freely with employees. There is a lot of variety of the employee experience between departments; some are better managed than others. But overall a great place to work; I would highly recommend.
Pros
Huge company 401k contribution, generous vacation benefits, excellent health benefits, flexible work hours, beautiful work environment, good support for new mothers
Cons
Some departments are better managed than others

Dishonest and Unethical
Education Coordinator, Editorial and Production (Former Employee) –  Park Ridge, ILFebruary 1, 2018
Even after a rigorous review process, including multiple phone and in-person question and answer sessions, the Education Department position I held ended up a short-term disaster. The ASA Human Resources is unprofessional and unethical; personnel in this area lied to me and misled me regarding termination paperwork. My direct "supervisor" did anything but supervise. This person assisted in hiring me and then spent several months "documenting" outright lies, half-baked ideas, and partial accounts of events in an all-out surprise "performance-evaluation review" attack. I was never (not once) informed of any possible concerns or suggestions for improvement. There was very little training for new employees (or for me at least). I only heard about the so-call "bad" only during the evaluation.
Pros
Paid vacations, 401K plan, health insurance
Cons
Terrible management, disorganized structure

Great people/poor management
Senior Associate (Current Employee) –  Schaumburg, ILSeptember 28, 2017
Great people to work with. Management team needs improvement. It should not be about the goals and bottom line all the time, or about the praises for upper management. Consider the daily, detailed work and people that provide everything you need to achieve those goals and make the management look good.
Pros
Great benefits
Cons
very little opportunity for advancement

Always changing... Never any consistency...
Private (Former Employee) –  Schaumburg, ILMay 16, 2017
This place has great workers however it is outweighed by inexperienced, hands off management. Once you finally get familiar with your own job description, your job changes. If you even get a job description.
Great place to be for a young individual out of college looking for some experience and expecting to move on. Not a good place to work for those experienced individuals looking to stick around.
Pros
Great benefits and good people
Cons
Pressure from above to meet (un)achievable deadlines.

Heavy workload
non-manager (Former Employee) –  Schaumburg, ILApril 29, 2017
The company offers great benefits but the culture is unstable. Lots of turnover and not much room for growth. There are many projects with competing deadlines. Hardly any time to do quality work as staff feels pressured and rushed.

Staff Accountant (Former Employee) –  Park Ridge, ILApril 20, 2017
this was a great place to have my first accounting experience. It was a small office and so I got exposed to every part of accounting in one job. I learned a lot and had great coworkers. because it was a small office there was not room for advancement. the comp and benefits where fantastic.
