Unsafe. Too many uneducated, under qualified employees. (They hire based on who you know, not what you know.)
I would like to know how far does amtrak go on background check? what drug test process is used, urine or hair?
When I hired out 5 years ago it was urine. But as i currently understand it, you must submit a hair sample.
If you were in charge, what would you do to make Amtrak a better place to work?
Management is not flexible and doesn’t investigate anything. It’s easier to fire people and start fresh that is there approach
I applied for passenger engineer trainee back in Jan 2017. I didn't hear anything until June 2017 and that was to take the assessment. How long does it normally take to get an interview? Any help would be appreciated
Sometimes interviews don't happen until there is a need to train additional staff or in this case conductors.
It takes about 3 months at max. They call for interview, do interview, call back if hired, drug test and check up, come in to accept and do minor paperwork, training for 1 month and then you're on your own good luck!
