Valuable experience with no free time
Associate (Current Employee) –  Chicago, ILSeptember 19, 2018
Overall, Analysis Group is an interesting environment. You work on a lot of interesting cases that present unique problems, and you get to work on these cases with some great, very intelligent individuals.

However, the nature of the work is very volatile and results in many late nights and often weekend work.

If you find the work rewarding and engaging enough, this is not a problem as you are compensated well. However, if you desire to have more free-time to yourself I would suggest looking for other jobs.
Pros
Company culture, intelligent co-workers, engaging environment
Cons
Poor work-life balance.

AG is a premier economic consulting firm with numerous opportunities to work on high profile cases. Colleagues are very smart and motivated. Lack of centralized staffing model results in uneven experience.

Great company to start your career
Analyst (Former Employee) –  San Francisco, CAFebruary 11, 2018
Analysis Group is a great place for freshly minted econ college grads to start their career. You learn a ton as an analyst, and you generally work with extremely talented and thoughtful colleagues and management. There's a collaborative culture that is unique to AG. That being said, you're paid pretty low considering the number of hours you work and the on-call nature of the job, and the type of complex analysis and drafting that's expected of you. In addition, there's no way you can advance to the associate level without a graduate degree, which means some capable senior analysts who want to advance within AG spend a couple of years underpaid compared to industry standards. That being said, I would definitely recommend working at AG to my friends and people I know.

Great working experience
Senior Coordinator, Office Services (Former Employee) –  Boston, MAFebruary 8, 2017
AG (Analysis Group) was a great employer experience.
Depending on case work levels, it could be feast-or-famine so I found work to do. The best part of the job were the people: there was always a sense of thankfulness for the work performed. I learned to be a team player. The culture at Analysis Group was phenomenal.
The hardest and equally enjoyable parts of work were the hours and managing the requests of counsel as well as the knowledge that you accomplished something when you left the building regardless of the time on your phone.
Pros
Great people throughout the firm
Cons
The day doesn't end at 5:30 but that is reasonable.

Great company, with great culture and great people. A great place to learn broadly about capital markets and to learn from smart, dedicated, and motivated people. I had a great experience.

Great place to start career
Senior Analyst (Current Employee) –  Boston, MAApril 14, 2014
Analysis Group's work relies heavily on rigorous quantitative analysis, resulting in a steep learning curve for new analysts. However, once basic analytical skills are mastered, there is an opportunity to assume significant responsibility on case teams and gain wide industry exposure. Managers also tend to invest in the career development of analysts. Due to the opportunity for rapid skill development and the supportive culture, Analysis Group is a great place to begin one's career.
