Great place to start
Hematology Technician (Former Employee) –  Portland, ORMarch 5, 2019
Great place to learn basic laboratory skills and advance with your skills. There is opportunity for training as well as growth within the company and the empathetic patient driven culture was very motivating. However, with most veterinary careers, the pay was on the lower end of industry standards.

LABORATORY COORDINATOR (Former Employee) –  Lake Success, NYFebruary 15, 2019
Low compensation. Overworked.
Company applies cheap fixes to operational issues, resulting in poor quality product and services.
The company is losing money therefore cannot afford to invest better training and mentorship in their teams and employees.
Pros
the job responsibilities are very easy
Cons
terrible culture

Cool environment, sketchy people.
Parasitology Aide II, Specimen Processor (Former Employee) –  Sacramento, CA 95827February 8, 2019
Worked here almost two years and made great friends but main lab room is just people power hungry to climb up the ladder, Favoritism in staff is played highly in its management. Processors are to meet a ridiculous quota as if you’re working in a sweat shop. Save your time and apply at Idexx, Antech is everything done halfassed with faulty machines, and guessing results. It’s good enough to get your foot in and get the experience, and that’s about it.
Elected an employee of the quarter to refrain him from looking to other employers instead of fairly voting as the lab did previously. Politics in the lab 👌
Pros
Few tolerable people, university learning tool at your disposal.
Cons
Poor HR messing up pay days, Poor management, Likes turnover hires rather than people who stay. Insane turnover rate btw!

Fair warning
Technician (Former Employee) –  FloridaDecember 1, 2018
The most unprofessional environment I’ve been a part of. They reinforce a bullying behavior, favoritism, harassment. Unless you’re someone who doesn’t mind that type of environment, have at it. I’m surprised this company hasn’t been sued over the type of behavior that goes on and HR does nothing about it. Just in my time there I saw many employees be fired without just cause, arguments on the floor between employees and manager because of the treatment of the staff so the actual good employees just end up quitting. Cursing and extremely inappropriate discussions by employees and management and yet no one is held accountable as HR is in a different state and never take complaints seriously.
Pros
Pet health care discounts
Cons
Management and HR, work environment.

Lab Coordinator (Former Employee) –  Phoenix, AZNovember 28, 2018
Training was fast and easy. Management did not expect perfection. Learned a lot during my time at Antech about Lab Work for Animals. Was expected not to ask too many questions, but given resources to find the answers myself. Programs used are very outdated.
Pros
Relaxed
Cons
Boring

Specimen Processor (Former Employee) –  Southaven, MSOctober 23, 2018
It was okay working there but for some reason the manager seem not to like her employees interacting with co-workers in other departments. It was always quiet and just did not feel like being at work.

Specimen Processor (Former Employee) –  Orlando, FLOctober 12, 2018
No one cares about if you're sick or have any illness, all that matters is if you can perform above quota and if you can't they'll try to find ways to fire you.

Terrible
Parasitology Technician (Current Employee) –  Oak Brook, ILAugust 22, 2018
This is a terrible place to work. No work-life balance, terrible managment/HR, low pay, and overall abusive work culture. HR is never available to assist with work issues unless scheduled at least 4 business days in advance. For the amount of work that comes in and the high expectations to perform, hourly pay is not equal. Due to high turn over rate, all departments are always understaffed, specifically the Parasitology Department. Technicians almost always end up doing the work of an Lab Aide, but are not compensated for it. The facility is falling apart from rodent, pest, and water damage. Supplies are constantly running out. Management plays favoritism and turns a blind eye to bullying behavior. Overall, this company, specifically the Oak Brook, IL branch, is horrible to work for.

Hours, Work-life balance, work culture, Pay

Good experiece, poor hours
Parasitology Technician (Former Employee) –  2601 22nd St, Oak Brook, ILAugust 21, 2018
I learned quite a lot about how a lab operates; how to manage and process specimens and how to train new employees. I had a lot of school experience in the lab so I was well prepared for the job at hand. However, after a few years, the midnight shifts became difficult. Balancing home and work life was near impossible. Pay was less than I hoped for after two raises and two promotions. I was given lots of opportunity to learn and advance my knowledge and expertise, and benefited greatly. However, I ultimately decided to move on with my career in search of greater challenges and better pay.
Pros
experience and knowledge of lab environment
Cons
hours, breaks, heaalthcare, dental, management
