Applied Behavioral Analysis Therapist in Boston, MA

They don’t train you before matching you and putting you in a home. Your orientation is one single day and they only go through the basic business items. Nothing to do with the actual job. Then they put you in a home with a child with no help. It was terrible. Image walking into someone’s home with no knowledge of what is going on and all you can do is text someone and hope they answer. And they lie about problem behaviors. I would not recommend this company

For my job you did not need any licensing, the BCBAs train you during your first week. As you work longer with the company they give you more cases/clients which I was very happy with. I was hired part time and within a couple months I was working full time. I was trained before and during COVID. Before COVID the training was very easy, BCBAs told you what needed to be fixed, reviewed behavior plans etc. However, when COVID started APEX switched to telehealth and was horrible. BCBAs did not review plans or give appropriate training. I felt like I wasn't doing a good job because there was no feedback and no training.

The work culture is toxic and challenging. You don't get appreciated for the efforts you put in and they don't mind firing you if you make mistake or complain so much. They pay you peanut to do a lot on the job.

Communication is a problem. You barely ever see your supervisor and when you do they usually just give you negative feedback for little things like discussing a work schedule with the family you work with. You have no say in changes to programming and what works and what doesn't with your client which is upsetting because you are with them everyday and know what works for your client and what does not, your supervisor is barely there so doesn't know.

Apex Behavioral Consulting is a great place to work! They care about the families and children receiving services and do thier best to make sure each child gets the most out of our services. They make sure each employee is properly trained.
