Order Picker (Current Employee) – Fairburn, GA – September 26, 2018
They are a real good and friendly company it’s just that you do the same thing everyday without getting a chance to learn anything new or different because you are stuck doing the same thing everyday for 12 hours a day
Busy and friend!y, ware house Separatedinto different departments
Shipping and Receiving, (Former Employee) – Hodgkins, IL – August 19, 2018
Assignment was set every morning, dumbstruck coming in and going out. Opportunity to move to other work areas. Worked alone or in groups, depending on the position out in. For!lifts not always dependable. Was friendly and family like atmosphere.
Forklift Driver (Former Employee) – Pleasant Prairie, WI – August 16, 2018
I like working at APL. The work was easy but the pay was below average the days were long and my biggest problem with a p l was their system never property saved your time. So you would work 40 so 50 hours a week but on every paycheck you would have to fight for those hours.
Decent paying job depending on location in warehouse
Front office CSR (Current Employee) – Shepherdsville, KY – August 7, 2018
I did 3 different positions within the 1 year and 5 months I was employed there. I would have stayed, however, it conflicted with my school schedule ad became stressful. Otherwise, there are good people there that will help you out when you need it.
ACCOUNT MANAGER (Current Employee) – Scottsdale, AZ – August 2, 2018
This place is great if you've you had 0 exposure to the industry. But take it and run. Management is way to involved with your accounts to the point of being unhelpful. 1/2 of them are incredibly rude, all the way up to the director. Comp package isn't competitive with the market. Great colleges. Horrible management team.
CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE (Former Employee) – Hodgkins, IL – July 27, 2018
Great job as long as you mind your business. A typical work day at Apl is usually fun and busy. However, management can tend to overly micromanage the warehouse workers, but I guess to keep them on their toes.
Flexibility. You can usually get overtime and change your shift if need be.
Warehouse Worker (Current Employee) – Minooka, IL – July 10, 2018
It’s a decent place to work as a temporary job and that’s it. They constantly change your working hours daily and have you work over time every day because they don’t have enough people in the work place. Also, they will tell you last minute that Saturday is mandatory and don’t care if you have stuff planned and don’t give you a heads up they literally tell you at the very last minute. I like working over time but they make it mandatory for a lot of people who don’t want it. And some of the line leaders are very ignorant. But overall it’s a pretty decent place to work besides that.
Free lunch, decent breaks, okay pay, vending machines, areas to put your things
Warehouse Supervisor (Current Employee) – Lithia Springs, GA – July 9, 2018
The APL contract I worked on was a thrown to the wolves type of environment. Several people in there with a bunch of knowledge, but dont have the time to train people. Structure is terrible and needs to be reevaluated. Work load is massive and unmanageable.
Hourly associates can make a lot of money, Hourly associates get paid double time for the 7th work day
Quality Control (Current Employee) – Shepherdsville, KY – June 29, 2018
It has been a great environment to learn new trades. However, they do not hire from within the company. A position you have had your eye on and training for will be filled by a temporary company. The attendance policy is not applied to the newly hired temps and their start pay is close to what the temps are being paid.
Shipping and Receiving Clerk (Former Employee) – Atlanta, GA – June 15, 2018
The job itself is not difficult, however the company has one "supervisor" that makes it an extremely stressful environment. He torments everyone that he can in multiple buildings and his supervisors do absolutely nothing about it. If a mistake is made he quickly blames it on someone else, (mainly the guys on the floor) even if he has given direct orders to do it. He is verbally abusive to his subordinates on a regular basis (unless he's in a good mood) and the only thing you can do is deal with it or leave. The morale is very low and the turnover rate is extremely high is the building that he is over.
