Contracting for the Government
Budget Analyst (Current Employee) – Colorado – February 8, 2018
Apogee Corporate is an AWESOME place to work, being out in the trenches is a completely different story. Apogee wants to take care of their folks, you can see this by the very reasonable benefits package to accommodate the mediocre pay. .
However, working a government contract is hit or miss proposition (read: love it or hate it, there isn't a lot of in-between). If you work with/for a military entity, these members are subject to rotations on a regular basis. This can effect continuity, strategy as well as personality and decision making/problem solving aptitudes in a very real and political sense.
While I really like Apogee at the corporate level, the contracting I'm working presents a extraordinarily stressful and toxic environment that I can no longer tolerate. This position has been a revolving door with rough turn over rate of 130% in the past year. This isn't new, and for whatever reason both the gov't and Apogee have not been able to find a solution to this issue.
Apogee itself is a great company
The Government makes life suck, because... bureaucracy.
