Actually, union workers get a yearly pay increase (whether they work or not) as well as pay increases if they obtain water/wastewater license.
Management gets a yearly pay raise along with a yearly bonus and stock options.

Well, depends on what your job is and if the manager is actually supervising that you are doing your job. If your manager is involved-then you will have plenty to do. If your manager is lazy and chooses to sit at a desk most of the day, most often then you will be free to do what you want because the manager is not overseeing whether you are at your job site or taking really long lunches or breaks. Mangers that do their job are harassed the most by the union employees who really do not want to work.

Pesimistic. Gain experience to use as a stepping stone to better organizations, if your lucky. It’s culture is decades way behind for a modern company. The upper managers are frankly out of touch. There’s a lot of blame game going on and I can tell you firsthand nobody likes working there, unless they’re politically on the right side of favoritism.
