Collections Coordinator II (team Lead) in Vista, CA

All departments have very talented people who are frustrated and negatively impacted from being highly understaffed. It's hurting the quality of the work they're able to do- there are just too many tasks and not enough people. Many are suffering from burnout and stress to the point of it seriously impacting their health. Minimal training- be prepared to learn your job yourself. Expectations to do the work of 5-6 people, meet unreasonable deadlines, but not work overtime. Be prepared to get yelled at for stuff that has nothing to do with your position (mostly because there is lack of understanding of processes across departments/poor communication). Excessive amount/duration of Teams meetings that could have been a few sentence email waste a lot of time. Outdated system is being replaced within the year, but current limitations are difficult to work with. Lots of people who don't get along with each other contribute to workplace tension, though there are a couple of handfuls of people who are genuinely very nice and are great to work with. Unfortunately, many of those people plan to leave the company soon. Company benefits sound great, but the health insurance is the most expensive group insurance I've seen and doesn't have great coverage. The company contribution to the plan is lower than most in the area. I wish I had known how bad it was prior to reviewing my offer, because it dropped my net lower than what I would have accepted. With the demands of the department I was in, it was impossible to find time to go to the doctor. The office layout is NOT ADA friendly. They meet minimum requirements, but if this is a consideration of yours, I recommend asking for a tour during your interview process to make sure it will be feasible. Some departments have strict limits on when you're allowed to take vacations- no time off during Thanksgiving/Christmas (and other limits). Zero team building activities. I heard several complaints about low wages in various departments. Some people in management don't make industry standard salaries, and put in 12+ hour days. The company is being prepped for sale (keep in mind if this could impact your career goals).

Fun place to work but very difficult to advance. They usually only hire temps so it's almost impossible to apply for a new position. We wish they would post current positions instead of filling with a temp agency.

The pay is very low and not competitive with the industry standard but the people are very cool so it makes it ok and a fun environment.

Marketing Assistant in Vista, CA

Its choppy waters for Aqua Lung's Marketing team. Working on a shoe sting budget makes the job difficult, but certainly promotes thinking-outside-of-the-box. Each person within the company seems to be a jack-of-all-trades and this can cause lots of stress. With short and demanding timelines this can create lots of headaches.
