Caseworker (Former Employee) – Aurora, CO – July 19, 2018
I worked for the Department of Human Services. Due to the organization being so big, it's hard to move up and be treated like an individual. Workers are not appreciated as much as they should be. There is limited cultural awareness.
Fast paced, high level of stress, but meaningful work.
Program Specialist Supervisor (Former Employee) – Aurora, CO – April 23, 2018
Arapahoe County is a very fast paced, high level of stress work environment. Which is to be expected considering the type of work ensuring clients are given timely and accurate Public Assistance in accordance to Federal Regulations. The work is meaningful and fulfilling; however, the work life balance, minimal pay, lack of opportunity for growth/development, as well as leadership development are a constant work in progress.
Serving the community and ensuring timely and accurate benefits
No opportunities for growth or development beyond Supervisor level
Case Coordinator (Current Employee) – Centennial, CO – February 20, 2018
Alright place to work for someone starting out. It lacks culture and the pay isn't the greatest butt most Human Services jobs do not pay well. Again would recommend this job to someone who recently graduated or reentered the workforce.
Clerk (Current Employee) – Centennial, CO – February 12, 2018
ok good benefits some nice employees the upper management needs to listen to the lower paid staff for input on work and procedures instead of implementing things without knowing first how it will impact the sections.
Ballot election judge (Former Employee) – Cherry Creek Instructional Services Center – November 23, 2016
This was a temporary position to help with the 2016 elections in Arapahoe county. I received adequate training and assistance learning my responsibilities and company web based system. Co workers were amazing: courteous to myself and community members requiring voting assistance. The hardest part of the job was reconciling the final days ballots and signatures and taking down all equipment. I found the position quite an enjoyable civic opportunity.
Dispatcher (Current Employee) – Aurora, CO – October 15, 2016
Dependable work hours and great pay! Most of the management is great and easy to work with. Depending on the department you are in, it will be easy for you to advance, and they actually encourage it. Other departments frown upon advancement.
