Initial experience excellent. After management and structural changes, turned more towards the negative
Senior Audit Manager (Former Employee) –  Decatur, ILJuly 3, 2018
During the first 10 - 15 years of my employment, ADM had the feel of a family run business. Employees were viewed and treated as valuable. The knowledge and experience was of great importance to ADM. Once someone outside the company was hired to lead the company, the value of personnel began to decrease. Leadership did not want to hear disagreeable opinions. As such, the family feel and appeal disappeared.

Maintenance Superintendent (Current Employee) –  Midland, COJune 26, 2018
ADM is a very good place to work, I have been here for more that 30 years, as a contractor and then as a ADM employee. I have lead very large capitol/greenfield project ( 500M) in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Maintenance in Decatur.

Too much overtime and overly strict attendance policy
Assistant Miller (Former Employee) –  Lincoln, NEJune 21, 2018
Every Monday was a down down for preventative maintenance and we are expect to work 12 hours every Monday. We worked 7 days week for about 8 months with no days off. paychecks were great, about $1,100 a week, but not worth all the missed family time. Good job for single people. Plant management get bonuses based on how much money they don't spend out of their departments budget, so it was not uncommon for machines to break down completely before anything would even start to be done. Fairly common to go entire shift without a break. Attendance is on a point system. 1 minute late is .5 points. Call in is 1 point. Forgetting to clock in or out is .5 points. Missing 2 or more days with doctors note is 2 points. Same with out doctors note is based on how many days one missed. Accumulate 10 points in a 53 week period and one is terminated.

Maintenance (Current Employee) –  Farmer City, ILJune 12, 2018
Adm is a great place to work if you know somebody and are in management. As an hourly employee they say they care but fail to show it anymore, and tend to not take our opinions into deep consideration
Pros
At my location we had a great manager

No time and place for the hourly employees

If you're a white man, you've got it made. If you're anything other than that, expect to be overlooked for multiple opportunities and told to shut up.
