Answered - CORRECTIONS OFFICER (Former Employee) - Goodyear, AZ
It seems like it now takes approximately one month to get hired. Steps include "walk in" and "on line" applications. Back ground checks are completed, with follow up phone calls if needed for clarification. Those who pass this are given a written test and a physical test. Those who pass are given a start date in which they will attend the Correctional Officer Training Academy. This is an eight week academy, with the fourth and eighth week being at a prison with a Correctional Officer II.
