Watch Your Back
Everything was fine and I loved the job at first. The client was tough starting out but I enjoyed it. After I had been with the company awhile things began to change. Employees at events starting talking to me more which I thought was nice because they were very nice. I didn't know everytime they talked to me they were lying to my supervisor about what I was saying. I had people around me to back up what I did and didn't say but it seemed like they were just looking for a reason to get rid of me. If you don't fit in the circle of people they like they try to find anyway to get rid of you. After discussing it with other Ex-Employees almost the same thing happen to them. I wouldn't work there again in any situation because if you don't fit their mold you don't matter.

I truly see and feel the difference between what a boss is and what a leader is. With Arkansas Family Supports, I feel we are constantly planning and prepping for the future. It feels great knowing we focus being great at one thing, rather than being good (or just existing) at several things.

AFS does not support its staff. Executive management is very selfish and not in touch with what is going on nor does he care. I would never recommend anyone work in the corporate office ever!

The management and supervisors were the most stressful part of this job. They were simply stretched too thin, had too many cases to work on, and were so overworked that it showed in their attitudes towards their staff. It became an issue when trying to talk to supervisors about getting more or better qualified staff for my clients, we were always working over-time. If I needed a day off, I had to find my own coverage, then tell my supervisor it was taken care of.

I would definitely recommend for those looking to help others! It’s a wonderful environment with management and a rewarding career in the field of Developmental disabilities.
