This company is terrible at training employees. There were basic aspects of my job that i should have been trained on in the first few months i worked there but took a well over a year to start training me. They under value and under pay there employees, there are great employees there that have been there for almost 10 years and are still at the bottom of the pay scale and have not received a pay raise for 3+ years.
Finishing Operator (Former Employee) - Tualatin, OR - July 23, 2019
I really enjoyed working at ascentec! Management was great coworkers were great. everyone was treated with respect and the same. If you had a problem they helped you fix it to make it better and understand it. I learned alot and would love to go back!
Seeing processes that need improvement but not being in a place to fix them. Not always 100% transparent in the operations. Competition between the management makes clear communication sometimes tricky.
This job is great at times until you start realizing that not everything is figured out, and some stuff you kind of question why they are done and if it is the wisest thing to do. it feels like focus is else where while computers and other equipment keep s failing and/or needs updated.
This is such an amazing and interesting place to work! I've gained life skills from working here. Job range from expert to beginner. Great trainers, they don't just throw you on the floor and tell you to work. Co-workers are what really make the entire Ascentec team worth it. Great friendly owners who aren't afraid to run a machine,
Vending machines are cheap, relaxed work environment, always have work to do, higher ups aren't afraid to pick up a broom.
Long drive, parking is inconsistent (different place everyday)
Worked here for upwords of 4 years now and enjoyed the experience and learning that came with the position. I have learned many skills and have gained a vast knowledge of the manufacturing industry. The downside is the inability to grow in your position. When they like you in a position, it is extremely hard to ever get promoted to another position for career growth. The opportunities for growth are almost non-existant.
Unmonitored work-day, excellent tools, awesome coworkers, booming industry
Low compensation, low feedback from management, very little up front training, no growth opportunities
