Great culture, supportive manager, and good place for advancement.
Customer Support Manager (Former Employee) – Dublin Ohio (corporate headquarters – January 29, 2019
Ashland was a great place for opportunities. I had a manager who listened to me and we worked well together. The HR team did a great job of working with employees for career aspirations. There was opportunity for advancement.
Very supportive of growing career, challenging and rewarding work.
Hard to balance small and work/travel with small children.
Help Desk Technician (Former Employee) – Lexington, KY – January 29, 2019
Hired to upgrade all PCs and Laptops in the Lexington home office. Imaged 500 plus units, collected and replaced all the old unit. Did inventory control a set up disposal of used computers and equipment.
Cooperative team spirit at the Lima chemical plant
Capital Projects Coordinator/Construction Manager (Former Employee) – Lima, OH – November 13, 2018
Plant has flat management organization that is very supportive of each other and the teams organizational efforts as laid out by the plant manager. Even the hourly Operations personnel display ownership and cooperation in how they conduct them selves and execute daily functions.
Plant manager requires all to be team players and it has become cultural.
A complete death trap of a place to work. Should be shut down by the epa.
All positions in production (Former Employee) – Fort smith – October 8, 2018
This place favors the good ole boys club. If you aren't a part of it good luck advancing. They will put someone over you with less experience because they were looking out for the future. Well look now people as they are about to close and get sold lol. This place has hurt more people and the environment than whirlpool ever did. Erin Brockavich needs to come and see the facility and the contaminated ground it sits on. There is hazardous waste buried under the entire area. They know and just submit bogus environmental samples. The health and safety guy in charge died of cancer. As we all will suffer long term effects from exposure. My life has permanently been altered because of working here and breathing this stuff daily. They implemented a safety program after people kept getting hurt to make themselves look good while encouraging employees to come up with things for small gifts to tell on each other.
The regular cycle of VSO and headcount reductions was awful
Master Data Process Owner (Former Employee) – Dublin, OH – October 7, 2018
I really enjoyed the people and the work I did at Ashland. There is still clearly a boys network in play that was quite discouraging at times. There was also, and continues to be, a cycle of buying/selling/reorganizing that resulted in voluntary retirement offerings and the headcount reductions to address "stranded cost". The unease this created was really awful and managed poorly.
Senior Voice Network Technician (Former Employee) – Lexington, KY – September 15, 2018
Start work at 7:45 check email then look at Tickets for MAC's and troubles Take care of any thing that needs fixed then work on MAC's then attend any meeting that is scheduled ,review projects that are in process make calls to to vendors or contractors to schedule work to be performed at remote sites , follow up with site contacts to make sure work was performed , I was on call every four weeks for a week 7/24 this was for the entire Ashland Voice Network .
Maintenance Foreman (Current Employee) – Calvert City, KY – August 20, 2018
Laid back job for the most part. At times things can happen which need immediate attention. Would be a great job if some of the employees didn't act like children. Seem to be more worried with causing disturbances and drama rather than using that energy to complete their job.
Ashland (Former Employee) – Ashland, OH – June 16, 2018
I enjoyed this position until a lady called me and needed to talk to the attorney because her soon to be ex was going to kill her. Attorney would not talk to her and told me to tell her to call the police. VERY STRESSFUL!!
You never know what you are going to walk into on a typical day at work. It may be a low leisurely day working on administrative duties, or you may be called to work on various issues that have manifested somewhere in the world.
Freedom and support to develop products and services that greatly enhanced the deliverables of the company; including the development of a patented fuel processing device. Great opportunity to travel internationally and grow the business.
