Good place if you like associations

This is a Good job. Pay could be better. Too many clients for one person. Working for an association is different than working for another company and takes some getting used to.

Great work culture!

AH is a great place to work. Though there aren't many job advancements, the culture and relationships made are awesome! It is a 7.5 work day your work-life balance is nice because you can be finished by 5:00 pm each day.

Pros

Office Christmas Parties are awesome and you receive great benefits!

Productive with room for growth

Productive with room for growth. Owners show a great deal towards employee appreciation. Hard work is rewarded with advancement. New hires are given time and flexibility to learn.

Pros

Summer Fridays work 1/2 day

Cons

Dental coverage could be stronger

Constant fear of being fired

Working for multiple clients is not ideal. Team meetings are not effective. Management are so busy they don't have the opportunity to support their teams. Meetings, meetings, meetings don't leave much time to get the real work done so the days are regularly 9 - 10 hours with a salary that does not support the time.

Pros

Schedule flexibility

Cons

Long hours, leadership never come out of their offices, no training, no feedback, many work through their lunch hour

Great Environment

I've been with AH just over a year now and, although you will never make really good money due to the industry, I've never been happier culturally. The owners are as generous as they can be while watching out for the client's best interests. Hardware and software are upgraded on a regular basis and training opportunities are offered. There are lots of promotions from within as well as new executives being brought in.

Pros

Early Out Fridays from Memorial Day to Labor Day, Training Opportunities

Cons

37.5 hour work week, pay is never going to be great

over worked

You will be overworked and under paid. Its a great place to start your career and get experience but not to stay. Either you get lucky with a manager who knows what they're doing and helps you be successful or you will get fired, because there is very little company training. Turn over is high and understandable. They don't pay enough to put up with the work load and stress.

Pros

Early Out Fridays during the summer

Fired Unfairly

Was given a temp position, but was unjustly let go. It was slow when I came on board, but it was about to pick up. The nonprofit that I helped needed a new person on their team, but now the work balance of the team will be uneven again.

Flexible Hours and Summer Schedule but Poor Management

The culture and the flexibility is nice. However, management is lacking and people are laid off constantly for seemingly no reason. The health insurance and 401k plans are awful.

Pros

Early out Fridays in the Summer, Social Responsibility Committee

Cons

Horrible Benefits, Poor Management

Use to be a good place to work

When the company was smaller there was more communication between owners and staff. Segments leaders are changed too often and there is no one to oversee and guide the full client team. There is no real communication. Most of the client teams never even talk to their Segment leader.

Pros

Early out Fridays, surprise treats

Cons

Cubicles on top of each other

Senior management department needs revamping

Building was nice and there was a decent work/life balance. Company does a good job at giving back to the community. There is however, a lot of turnover, most likely due to the lack of guidance and direction from senior management. Employees are left guessing what projects need to be done.

Pros

holiday time, free food, early out Fridays

Cons

Job security is an issue, no available training, senior management is not willing to help, lack of clear direction

A good job starter

First job I had and it got me ready for other jobs that come my way. Family owned business is not nesscraly the best way to go but enjoyed working for Assciation Headquarters. Got meetings ready, data entry, cleaned the offices, and did anything and just about everything they needed me to do.

Pros

met new people at meetings which helped on social skills.

Cons

not enough pay.
