Assurance IQ, where do I start … Overall best company I’ve worked for uncapped commission , remote position, unlimited leads reputable company who’s owned by Pru, training , managers care & help you close calls from day one , & a great platform to manage your book of business. If your a “TOP” agent that is determined you will do great at assurance. Take time off whenever you need to. I have not one complaint thank you assurance for the opportunity.

Official response from ASSURANCE IQ

Thank you for your feedback! We're glad to have you with us and that you're having such a positive experience.

Compensation Structure is Extremely Convoluted and Confusing

As an agent, you are responsible for all of your expenses. Compensation is strictly commission. Considering that they keep changing the commission structure, good luck in figuring out how much you will make. They act as if they are an employer, but they are merely a lead generation company. Quality of leads is questionable. No benefits. No hourly compensation. No job security. You COULD end up working countless hours for free because of chargebacks.

Pros

Autonomy

Cons

Uncertain pay

Disorganized

Run like a startup, even though it's 7+ years old and fully owned by Prudential. Beneficial for some - job descriptions and promotion practices are pretty sketchy. Give out lots of swag and very nice campus.

Fun place to work at and great culture

Very good place to work at, the leadership team is good. They should consider giving better benefits as compared to industry standards. Work/life balance is good.

1099 side is a great place to work, allows your freedom but also the ability to make 6 figures

Great opportunity to work from home. I recommend the 1099 side, gives you the ability to work from home, make your own schedule, and still make anywhere from 100-200,000+.

Alright place to work.

They say they are there for you and will help you in anyway. But that is not true. When you ask for help they will tell you to find it. And being a new health insurance agent that is not right

mid to low quality leads

Some days you get 14 plus call some days you wait for a call hours at a time. Some of the leads are very poor, especially when dealing with Medicare. People fill out an adds promising all sorts of things that just are not even close to realistic and then you have to convince them to stay on the line even though you cant get them half of what they where promised. Low commission as well with no residual.

Great benefits, nothing else.

I've been working here a year and a half, and let me just say, there is a reason that there is such a high turnover rate--even amongst upper management.

bait-n-switch leads, fleeting compensation plans.

It was all good when things first got started. They offered the W2 position at $17/hr plus commission and the comp plan was very competitive. Training was 6 weeks and was very interactive and informing. Lots to learn about selling Medicare plans. When I got started, I actually did pretty good even got to the top seller on my team for a month and usually finished top 10 out of a 30+ team. I was able to feed my family, plan for the future and enjoy a good work/life balance while making good money. Then they changed the payplan. I get it AEP was coming and I guess the company thinks you should work more for the same amount since sales are expected to be high. Ok fine, I get it. Made a good amount of change for AEP... but also got robbed. More on that later. After AEP starting in 2023 Assurance changed their payplan AGAIN and basically wiped 60% of my earnings away with their new plan. This plan now only pays if you do a bunch of other things, some things that may not be in your control such as customers cancelling a plan. I went from making $1800 commission checks to $250. Also I was shocked to know that since over 70% of my enrollments didn't stick after AEP I was not entitled to the 25% of the commission. So I literally was robbed from the work that I did.I was basically trying to live off $17 an hour plus the 0.38 cents raise they gave me. This is where Assurance really sticks it to you. If you try to leave and go to another position in your career, they don't release you from their contracts to the Insurance carriers for 3 months. Even longer if you happen to leave before -

Pros

Decent management

Cons

They will change their payplan to pay YOU less.

great

I like the daily interactions with clients and customers. I like keeping busy and the fast pace the job has to offer. It is rewarding to me when I get everything done and all company issues are taken care of. I like that people are constantly depending on me and that all resolutions go through me. I am responsible for more than just reception. I also work with the Customer Care Dept. Ensuring accounts are set-up, payments are made, customer forms are scanned and emailed among many other duties.

Great money

Massive opportunity to generate huge income. Work remotely as a W2 or independent agent. Paid every Monday. Worked here for almost 3 years. You get out of it what you put in.

Good Compensation

If you already have sales experience, then this is a good platform to make money. Very aggressive compensation structure, and unlimited inbound leads.

Inconsistency is key

Terrible place to work. I'd recommend getting through training to get your license and then find another place to work. The culture, policies, communication, leads, sales, etc is all completely inconsistent. They punish the lower performing agents with 1/4 commission and awful commission "multipliers", lower your call volume, and make it nearly impossible to fix. Get your license and appointments and get out of there.

Flexible hours/inconsistent leads

It’s great if you are getting solid leads but it tends to be very inconsistent. You can work anytime you want so the flexibility is nice and it is remote so no commuting.

Fun and easy

Excellent place to work and build a career if you’re looking for a place to start in the insurance industry and need a good place to learn the business start here!

Run the Other Way

This company provided little to no assistance. The training was outdated and too salesy. The culture was all over the place and the hardest part was getting on with the carriers. There was remote access to the paperwork but the questions were non-specific and it was easy to make mistakes. Some of them came back to me again and again and I was unable to get help with what they were wanting.

Pros

I was finally able to get a release.

Cons

The whole thing was almost unbearable

W2 is not bad with benefits

Good managers that help you out and great benefits on the W2 side. Starting pay is 17 but a lot of opportunities to earn more money. The only thing is the mislead advertisement but if you pretty straightforward with the clients it’s pretty much ok.
